Earniel, I expect that you'll get these three posts (including mine) moved over to the discussion thread when Thorir Orcbane has found his answer.

As part of teaching someone how to play: There is usually a discussion thread kept separate from the story. Any questions about the story and about playing goes in the discussion thread.

Good call, Varna. As we were just on a new page, I hadn't noticed we were in the game thread, rather than the discussion thread.

There's also a good thread here on how RPG's are usually played on this forum.

I was wondering Eärn, have you decided on the more general aspects of the Iron Hills? From the POV of my up-coming post I need to know if there is a Dwarven community in the Iron Hills somehow, somewhere, without you having to give off any details of anything.

I'll also assume that these Dwarves have some sort of communication with the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain... but could you give me a thumbs up on this if it's okay that I assume as much... ?

Yes, at this point there still should be a Dwarven community in the Iron Hills. I haven't decided much on them yet, so you've got plenty leeway in which way you intend to take them. I envisioned the community to be smaller than the Lonely Mountain population. (I take it most of them would prefer the more suitable halls under the Mountain as dwelling, then their lodgings at the Iron Hills which Thorin considered to be merely houses in exile.) But there should still be some Dwarven presence in the Iron Hills, if only to keep the mines going there, so at the very least there will be mining villages. And to answer your second question, yes, I think the Iron Hill Dwarves would definitely have good communication lines with the Lonely Mountain, where their King resides.

However, at this point Radagast does not expect to meet many, if any Dwarves on his journey. The Dwarves would more likely be residing deeper in the Hills than Radagast expects the Dol Guldur papers will lead us. And they would probably live west of the Carnen river, closer to the Mountain and the western trade-routes to Greenwood, while the papers indicate the Entwives were driven into the Hills east of the river.

Does that help you?

I thought somebody might.
Poor Nami. Tabrîl does not appreciate the disturbance and is a little grouchy.

Yeah thanks a lot this means I can get as much out of the storyline I had planned as possible. Exactly the sort of clues I needed, particularly the last part Heads up for some upcoming Quickleaf posts in LLL

I think they might both be as bad as each other.

(and no, that wasn't an invitation for the more magically-inclined among us to enchant inanimate objects and scare Tabrîl with them. )

I think Nami and Tabril are having a very interesting discussion.
If Baru had been around, she might have joined it, but she's waiting for Branwyn to start their last performance right now.

Maybe Baru can join them later and get a recap. I'd be interested to know her views on all this!

I don't think it's going too badly, so far. Tabrîl's actually talking instead of just saying it's none of Nami's business, and nobody's been offended yet.

Considering who we're dealing with, I'd call that pretty good.

I hadn't forgotten, but I thought that if Feawen had any plans for a performance with that wandering ball, to let her go first.

No, I didn't think you had forgotten. It's just that Baru isn't within earshot at the moment.
It would interest her to hear about it later.

Oh, I do hope Nami doesn't have an audience waiting while she's standing about chatting.

I know nobody asked, but maybe sometime during the weekend I'll be able to make a post. I wouldn't want my character to just stand or sit around somewhere away from everyone forever!
