I studied computer programming back in the 1990s - C, anyone? C++ was just being introduced, so for object-oriented programming we used Simula (which was invented by professors at my university).
World Wide Web was introduced in those days as well, and some of my fellow students had a webpage with their lecture timetable. Text only, because the img tag hadn't been invented yet.
I couldn't see the point of having such a list for myself, so I didn't make one. I only learnt HTML a few years later.

I learned some C++ in high school in... 2004 I think... don't remember a lick of it now, but I remember it was fun... and then we learned html...

I taught myself html in the 90s (in 5th grade) but I didn't really do anything in between then and college. I only know java now (probably going to learn C++ next semester or next year), and html/css/php and javascript, but those aren't real programming.

I'm kind of sad I missed so much of the early days of computers.

I also have been bad about having tea time every day like I did for a while. I'm drinking tea now but it doesn't quite feel like tea time.

You know what really sucks? Manila folder cuts... those things bleed and sting like crazy!

One thing I don't miss about my office job...

Hmm, I have yet to come apon these Manilla Monsters today. But I know what ye mean. Ouchies. But I'm the Election Everyman. I do all sorts of theings from top spot speech writing, organizing and rallies to making election signs and voter registration and what not. Tis fun.

Well, this is going to take getting used to... Goodbye, my 'Elvishly' long hair that I had for well, 8 to 10 years or so. It's going to be strange to suddenly have so much less to braid.

But at least my cut 30 cm of hair should make a nice donation to the national cancer research fund before being turned into a wig.

At least now there will be less for the kitten to chew on.

Tea anyone?

Been there, done that - three times in my life I've had hair nearly that length and cut it short. It does take some time getting used to - but it's nice, too, in all of those cases I was beginning to get tired of all that heavy hair.

In one case my Dad didn't even notice (at least not comment) - I suppose he was so used to seeing it only to my shoulders anyway, the rest of it was down my back.

Tea, please!
