With all the recent "interesting" posts, we should possibly change the PG-13 to PG-15.

Oh, I know the pomelo. The rest all sounds really interesting!
I love custard and apples. Ergo, I must love custard-apples! [/infallible Mari-logic]

So, apparently, today is the 150th birthday of Alphonse Mucha. Woohoo! To celebrate, here's one of my favourite of his prints:

That's a nice painting, though my tired eyes had a bit of trouble picking the image out at first.
Was it originally a fresco?

It might have been, but I'm not sure. I think most of Mucha's stuff was more in the way of posters and illustrations. Which makes him one of my favourite advertisers!

The style reminds me a bit of a certain ad for cigarettes, though I can't remember which brand.

Glynis Johns was an absolutely gorgeous woman.

That is all.

Let me ask... what would you guys do if I asked you a rhetorical question?

Never mind, don't answer that.

I was considering it but I forgot to bring my camera... A video of five quite tipsy friends playing a boardgame might have turned out a great contribution to Life in a Day

Mucha's one of my favourite artists as well. I particularly envy those decorative, symmetrical borders.

Mm-hmm, love me some art nouveau. Other faves from the period include Gustav Klimt (as long as he doesn't get nasty ) and Aubrey Beardsley (even when he gets nasty ).

To be honest, it's the last genuinely new artistic movement that I particularly care for...

My life right now is revolving around Starcraft II. It was released last night at midnight. My husband stayed up till 6 playing the game.

Woo hoo!

Starcraft... is it possible that I remember that game as a DOS-game?

I'm home alone, pretending to work on my thesis. Well, actually, I will start on it in 15 minutes. Need to keep a tight schedule. Unless anyone is willing to write my thesis for me? It doesn't have to be good, just get me a passing grade please
