They stole it from the 'confiscated' drawer in Filch's drawer, when he called them their to punish them for something. And there was efficient use of a dungbomb involved.

for one thing, which hiding? he went into hiding after the prizoner of azkaban, but he also went into hiding before he met harry, and he went into hiding in 13 grimmauld place...i'm guessing he bought the firebolt and sent it to harry?
