Valandil and Tessar, you're up early...extra coffee this morning? It's 1 am here (haven't gone to bed yet).
Just wanted to give a belated Happy Birthday to Jesus, since no one did. And no, I'm not baptist* *I'm Anglican

I don't know where you're from, but people all over my end of the world threw Jesus an enormous birthday party.
Didn't you go? |

Yes, I went, a long time ago, and am still there. Ok, I'm already sick of this analogy. (as Tolkien would be-this is him now rolling his eyes ) What I meant was that no one did here, in this birthday thread.

Episcopalian is a subset of Anglican. Most of the Scottish and American churches refer to themselves as "Episcopal" rather than "Anglican" for historical reasons. The specific church I belong to disagrees with the ECUSA on a number of things, and does not hold itself to every belief stated withing the ECUSA. As written on my church's website:
"Since the 1970s, ECUSA and the Anglican Communion have been embroiled in controversies regarding women's ordination, liturgical and theological innovation, blessings of homosexual unions, and the ordination of partnered homosexual clergy. The Anglican Communion is currently in the midst of a process initiated by the Windsor Report , which will likely culminate in the establishment of an Anglican Covenant. The Covenant is designed to hold the member churches of the Anglican Communion mutually accountable." I agree with the priests of our church; women's ordination, liturgical and theological innovation, blessings of homosexual unions, and the ordination of partnered homosexual clergy go against Scripture. Happy belated birthday, Professor Tolkien!
