Very pretty, Arien. I'm such an idiot, though. Took me a while to realise that 'Fëanáro' was spelt in Quenya mode. Duh!
Arien- you are learning really quickly! Well done! What font are you using, btw? |

I really like the Tengwar in your sig, Arien. Unfortunately I have forgotten half the letters, so I can't tranlate it. (And I'm too lazy to go to the next room and get my cheat sheet.) How did you put it in your sig? Did you just copy and paste the fonts? Is it all right if I do the same?
I think I got my fonts from Barrow Downs, but sometimes it's wrong. You have to be careful. I think the 'w' is wrong. EDIT: I tranlated your sig, Arien. Very sweet. I don't understand the second one, is it something in Quenya? Here's my translation:

cassiopeia, i dont know if i should interrupt but what you translated was exactly right, if it was english. but it's quenya so you have to read it differently.

I just noticed something odd in the Letters. At the close of 168, Tolkien writes 'Namarie' in Tengwar, but the vowels are in odd positions. Can anyone explain why they are half on the following tengwa and half on the proceeding?
I attached the scan. It looks funny because the M sort of runs into the A carrier, but if you look at it for awhile you figure it out.

thank you! yes you can go right ahead and put tengwar in your sig...the more the better I always say! Basicaly I typed out what I wanted to sayusing the tengwar font, then I converted it to a normal font (arial)...then I copied it and pasted it in the sig, with the font tags attatched text the first inscription in my sig is supposed to say "I love Mark" (my fiance) (it's written using the English mode) the second one says Namarie (it's in the Quenya mode) |

Elf Girl- I've no idea why it is like that. Perhaps Tolkien made a mistake- he was only human, after all. He's made mistakes in other texts, too. |

I checked The Road Goes Ever On- it has a pretty Tengwar 'Namarië' in the margins. Every single word is like that. It would seem that the first vowel is on the following consonent, and all other vowels are on proceeding consonents. Odd, neh?
Here's a 'laurië':

O wait, I'm wrong. 'lantar' is written with the vowels on the proceeding characters throughout. How odd.
