Because he spends so much time with the part of middle earth that so many people neglect, not much of a surprise, as it was Yavanna that asked for him to be included in the group of Istari. Victory over evil sucks when you don't have anywhere to live, so he was important in his own way.
Sarumon writes him off as a fool, and that's kinda sad. I don't really think that he is, but because Radagast spent so much time with "beasts and birds" he was kinda left out of the loop when it came to treachery. At least when the battles occurred, Radagast personally stayed out of them, and stayed alive. I don't believe that he ever left ME, he prolly had become too attatched to it. There's not much to go on, as he's really a minor player, at least as written into Tolkien's books, but the lack of info is what makes him so intriguing, and interesting to speculate about Aiwendil is a prettier name than Radagast. I forget the exact translation of Radagast, but Aiwendil basically means lover of birds. One thing that irritates me is that all of the (nine) pictures I've seen of Aiwendil portray him as the old man, Radagast the Brown, at the time of LOTR. He wasn't grey haired and old-looking to begin with, and being a Maia, he should be attractive. Another of my favorite (and scarce, but at least he gets his own poems ) guys is Tom Bombadil...it seems that nothing in ME has power over him, and that's pretty cool. And he has an equally mysterious wife. Last edited by Embladyne : 01-12-2005 at 01:49 AM. |

um??
I said nothing about relationships with animals, or people dressed as animals, but sometimes it's nice to go after a guy who's not always getting himself into trouble. |

I try to get her to fall for Finrod, and it backfires. Completely. I personally don't care much for Turgon, but I don't feel like fighting today.

I'm glad you can admit that your goof needs help. An attitude adjustment would be good.
