Beleg got cut down by a sleeping man! Even Finrod managed to go down fighting (though through a singing-contest? "Oh please, Mr. Sauron, my sword is sooo heavy. Can't we sing instead?").

no, please, if you have a urgent need to that sort of talk, please create a thread for it. I am sure there are a lot of supressed perverts roaming this forum, and I bet they are on there knees for this thread.

Imagination and interpretation are nice abilities in principle, this thread just proves that everything can be overdone.

a tad point heavy, but a firm grasp upon the hilt will allow you to weild such a weapon with finesse...

Now when using a point heavy weapon, always remember not to over-reach, as it will delay your riposte. Swift, smooth, firm strokes are best.

You know, if you practice too much, you may go blind.

Yeah, y'know, from yer wrist cramping, causing the sword to smack ye in the eye...

I'm almost afraid to come back to this thread...

Going back to the last, um... serious... statement here... I think the song singing was probably Sauron's idea, not Finrod's.

And considering this is coming from the same guy who later decides to put all his power into a piece of jewellery?

Actually almost any "spell" you can point at in Tolkein's universe is a song... Certainly anything major. Piseogs don't count.

It's been a while since I've read this thread, and I have to say, I've been mightily amused by it. So, now I'll contribute.
I personally prefer Aiwendil over the rest of the silm guys, but as I'm rereading it presently, I may make some more additions. I will also refrain at this moment from dissing other people's guys, however much I may think they are misguided in their choosing.

Aiwendil? Hmm... I should reread... doesn't ring a bell. *coughBelegishotcough*

Aiwendil = Radagast the Brown, one of the five Istari.
