Empress, I'm glad you feel better. I guess I missed it if you said you were not before. I'm kind of the same though, I've been grumpy and tired the past couple days but I feel better now.

Although I don't feel quite as strong a desire to go to the island now, the pineapples do sound mouth-watering. I love fresh pineapples.

That's not a pineapple, CH, that's some sort of Cycad, I think. Pineapples are bromeliads. That's the stem, you're looking at. Pineapples are under the blossoms, as most fruit are.

Pineapple Palm (Phoenix canariensis)
Canary Islands
Canary Island date palm is highly prized for its formal effect in the landscape, and for its hardiness that allows its use in cooler winter climates. The trunk is very wide compared to other palms. The leaf spread of Canary Island palms requires ample room for development even when the palms are young. Extremely tough and durable, this species endures dry conditions and, with occasional feeding, poor soils as well. As with most palms, poorly drained sites should be avoided.

Yeah... they've been biting the dust for awhile now... I wear my contacts most of the time and I just use my glasses for around the house and I think they've started to resent it..

First the tips of the bits that go behind the ears snapped off... and then I was just wiping a bit of a smudge off the lenses and a lens popped out

Luckily I have tiny screwdrivers handy for just such an occurrence... they seem to be functioning now..

Good thing I've asked for new glasses for my birthday...
