Isn't Whale Rider a TV movie? I caught some of that on channel 13, the public station around here, at like 4 AM sometime last week. It was pretty interesting, but it was too late and I fell asleep. I was hoping it actually stunk so I wouldn't have missed anything.

Last night I saw Four Brothers. It rocked so go see it. The commercials for it are bafflingly misleading; they make it seem like a rap movie or something: "You kep knockin' on da deviw's dow, sombohdy go'na aansah you!" "Dis is Detroit, in case ya'll fo'gotst'd!" I promise those were the only two crappy lines of the movie, and the action alone was definately enough reason to see it. That stuff usually doesn't impress me so much even. The plot kicks off right away, seems simple enough but gets complicated, and you hardly ever know what the characters are thinking so the next seen is always surprising and great.

In filmlist under Thrillers I've listed all tv-crime-series I've seen. Midsomer Murders, A Touch of Frost, Morse, Murder City, Mysteries of Inspector Linley, Tennison's Prime Suspect, Trial And Retribution and Wire In the Blood. Since they are all of movie-length and pretty good I thought they would fit nicely in my filmlist's Thriller segment.

I got, at last, you might say, to see the Hitchhikers Guide on saturday. It's been here in Norway some weeks now, but I haven't got the time before. I enjoyed the movie. Not a favourite, and indeed different from the book, but thats the spirit of Douglas, so.

Heartlands. Beautiful, understated film with a soundtrack by Kate Rusby.

Saw March of the Penguins last night and enjoyed it very much. Amazing to see how the birds share child care along with taking care of their own food needs.

Fellowship of the Ring on tv, even though I have my own dvd I loved watching it again.
Also watched "the Spanish Prisoner" an excellent mystery movie.

The one with Sean Connery, Richard Gere and Julia Olmond was in fact the dismal First Knight.

The one I'm talking about is from 1980 with a totally British cast and, as I posted before, the King Arthur movie.

Just seen 'crash'.

Thought of Lottesse ... Wasn't sure of the term 'gang-bangers' (it means something different i think over here) when Lottesse reffered to it... but i have a slightly clearer idea (though not from anything specific from the Movie) ...

I just popped in on the off chance (mainly to kill some time and get off the new crew's back: give them some space to prove themselves) and couldn't remember what i'd heard about crash ... whether it was a donkey or what.

Anyway i was pleasantly suprised: there are a couple of really good scenes in there, and it did make you think ... for me mainly about thinking itself.

Anyone else seen it?

Went to see Red Eye with my Mom on Friday. (She suggested we see it, I nearly dropped dead from shock...not her type of movie.) I was surprised! It was actually a good film. Not exactly Oscar-worthy or anything, but it was a good way to spend an afternoon. I'm beginning to like Cillian Murphy(sp?) more and more, he's got some impressive acting skills.

I hated what they did to this movie, vs the book.
