Well, I'm beat. Too much to do today and I'm ready for a nice cup of black tea with honey and perhaps a cheese danish.

Blackheart, we appreciate your not knocking over the cups; welcome.

Wahoo! YEAH! What luck!? I just got a call from Laura, who's in charge of the Junior Volunteers at the Living Desert (me included). I've just been invited to be one of two volunteers on Starry Safaris this Saturday!

Yeah a long night of drinking and then a long day of sleeping can do wonders.

What do the Junior Volunteers of the Living Desert do TB?

Well, that's about as far as it can be narrowed down. The Living Desert is like a zoo (actually, it is a zoo). I am assigned a different station every weekend--well, it's usually Sunday--and go and tell people about the animal/station/building/etc., besides general law enforcement and babysitting both the kids and the parents ("You there! You get back on the path or I'm gonna beat ya down!"), since they are both generally acting immature.
I particularly enjoy the Butterfly house, which is one of only two stations I've actually been able to work in, since all the others there was a major "misunderstanding."

That sounds fun. I wish we had a zoo close by. The nearest one is like 3 hrs away. Do they have a monkey area? I love monkeys. If they had one there you should definitely try to get in to that part. I take it the butterfly place is like a giant bird atrium where they are free to just fly around? Now i really want to go to the zoo!

Nope, no monkeys. This zoo is devoted strictly to worldwide desert wildlife.
And yes, they do fly freely, but I wouldn't call it "giant." It's like a mesh tent.

Duh..The Living Desert. I guess I should of thought about that huh. It's just I hear the word "zoo" and think of monkeys immideately. They are are so cute and funny. Tent, Atrium, giant, small, its all the same. In any event, working with animals is always fun. I use to want to be a zoologist, don't know why I never pursued that.

*peeked to see who was online and noticed sane here*

Hey, how about a carbomb and then a smoke? I've been trying to quit but it isn't easy. They say it's harder to quit smoking then it is to quit doing heroin. Those people go through hell trying to quit.

I don't want to be a zoologist anymore. I like animals, but that's not what I want to be. I'd much rather work with the stars, who I know won't bite or attack me, and even if they do, I got at the very least a million years to escape.
