That all reminds me: a bunch of my friends are planning on dressing up as a lot of Wizard of Oz characters for Halloween on Monday (in school). One of them wants to go as the fortune-teller, but the principal actually overheard him talking about the costume, pulled him aside, and told him that he won't tolerate any racially offensive costumes. Freaking moron heard my friend mention "turban" and threatened him with suspension if he shows up on Monday wearing one! It's the guy from the Wizard of Oz! I don't know why this guy always assumes everything is a mockery of some stereotype!

Lotesse, I know exactly how you feel. And of course now I'm outraged at my stupid principal now. But seeing "Irk" as an interjection made me giggle.

Terrans like him are so narrow-minded.

EDIT: Lotesse and I are now tied with highest Teacup Cafe III post count.

I am sorry to say that both my RPG's appear to be going the way of the dodo. Lyrd and LOST have had a marked drop in posters lately. Perhaps it's just a temporary drop (which I hope) and ya'll come back.

Dutch Witches Get Tax Break for Studies
October 30, 2005 6:48 AM EST
APPELSCHA, Netherlands - Dutch witches were guaranteed a financial treat when the Leeuwarden District Court reaffirmed their legal right to write off the costs of schooling - including in witchcraft - against their tax bills. Those costs run to thousands of euros.

The case is brewing political fury in the halls of Dutch government where a member of parliament for the ruling Christian Democrats demanded an explanation.

"It's just because the word 'witch' was mentioned that they have woken up," said Margarita Rongen, clad in flowing black velvet robes and wearing a Wiccan talisman. "This write-off has been around for a long time."

The court found that a witch can declare schooling costs if it increases the likelihood of employment.

Lawmaker Pieter Omtzigt was astounded.

"If we spend euro1,000 on a witchcraft class, that's euro1,000 we can't spent elsewhere," Omtzigt said.

When he asked about it in parliament, Junior Finance Minister Joop Wijn wrote, "Under the circumstances, the cost of a course to become a witch qualifies as school fees."

LOL! Is that true? Real funny! Tax write offs...tell Harry Potter's aunt and uncle that! Maybe they'll change their mind. (What was their name again?? All I can remember is their first names.)

Heh heh Then your way behind! The third one was released a year ago or something, I think. Now is the Goblet of Fire. Here is a link to the trailer: http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=4659
Just scroll down, and you'll find some

I can't wait to see Goblet of Fire. I really hope it delivers as much as the trailers make it out to be.

Today at the Teacup I am serving Beluga caviar on toast points with boiled ostrich egg sliced real thin, and Champagne to go with that - Cristall. Don't know why, just feel like it. A Sunday afternoon little soiree. Of sorts. Then, it's all about skinny-dipping diving in the SkyBar pool, that is after everyone's giggling-tipsy from all the champagne.

I read the third one, then stopped. My totalitarian stepdad says I shouldn't be reading fantasy because it's a distraction. My HP books suffered the same fate as my LotR books.
Geesh , what am I, a thoughtcriminal?

Well, MY step-father used to take ALL my books and music away; he'd even take my Beatles tapes and my Wrinkle in Time type books, and my philosophy books, and any & all fantasy books were verboten too, anything that encouraged creative independent thought or looked like it might be fun was taken away. I used to have to read covertly, in the library at school or in the broom-closet with a flashlight - he took my diary once, too, and read the whole thing, then condemned me & punished me for the thoughts & experiences I'd registered therein. What a prick, huh! Freakin' step-fathers are all the same. Meh.

I even hate seeing that bastard's name - though I appreciate the appropriateness of having an evil destroyer named after him. I just hate seeing his freakin' name. I still have SO much RAGE so MUCH rage against him, for everything he did to me. I've resolved much throughout the years, but I'll never stop being angry at him for the wrongs he did me. I'll NEVER forgive him, unless he were to at least even try and do right by me now, and no matter what, I WILL NEVER FORGET. Freakin' step-fathers, man.

I'm drinking ALL this Cristall by myself this balmy Sunday afternoon *burp* which is FINE BY ME. FINE. I'll eat all the bleedin' caviar, too. What, no one even eats CAVIAR around here? *grumpily stuffs more toast points smothered in caviar into mouth, chases down with swig from Cristall bottle.*
