Excellent photography in this thread folks. I really need to get a good digital camera, but I really do enjoy my ancient Canon AE-1

Errr, really?
There are some flaws in your style of taking photos. I think you should take a few dozen more so you can fix those problems before you stop posting on entmoot. You know I'm just teasing--but really, I always love coming to this thread and browsing back through it to see what you, and other mooters, have contributed. It's a great thread . |

Mkay, let's see if this works. I've got a collection of my best wildlife photos on a Belgian wildlife photo gallery website so let's see if we can link to them and avoid having to upload them in photobucket again. Here are some of this year:
Beetle (Cetonia aurata) (Rose chafer in English) My favourite waterdamsel (Calopteryx virgo) (Beautiful demoiselle in English) Butterfly (Limenitis reducta) (Southern white admiral in English)

Thanks!
I have to keep up the high level of photo quality that a certain resident photographer has set on this forum.

I know I said I'd take a while off.. But I just finished making my knife sheath the other day, and decided to take some photos of it. Here's the description I wrote for another forum (since I'm lazy enough not to write it again.. X): The handle is made of oak, the blade was industrial (we also made blades, but it takes a while to become good enough at that..). After filing the handle smooth, I put it in an iron-vinegar mixture over night, to make the wood darker. The sheath is made of leather and done from scratch. The decorations are made by wetting the otherwise finished sheath and engraving with a pen (that's not working), and then letting it dry with the knife inside. To finish up, the sheath is greased with wax. I chose to put a troll cross (http://altreligion.about.com/library...trollcross.htm) on the front of the sheath. On the strap attaching the sheath to a belt I put runes: front: Raido - Ehwaz - Uruz - Wunjo - Algiz back: Kaunaz - Dagaz - Leguz - Sowelu - Berkana (if you want to know what the runes mean and what they look like, go here: http://altreligion.about.com/library.../aa082702a.htm) The handle The sheath (front) The sheath (back)

It is, though! It was a great course. I loved being in the blacksmith's workshop - somehow got a medieval atmosphere over it.

My favourites of your new ones, Nerdanel are the lovely Columbian Boa - beautiful shot!!, and "the ape and the duck," and the cat & girl sleeping. But the boa is my favourite of all. Such a lovely snake he is...

The way that lemming looks, I'm getting faint reminders of the white rabbit in Monty Python. Oh, it's just harmless little bunny...
Great photo!
