I had to look it up on a Swedish/Finish dictionary site to find the "correct" words. And it wasn't all that easy.

Yeah, but who wants to go eat at a "snickrat IHOP"?

BTW... Grey_Wolf, what does that mean anyway?

It means "do joinery", putting words together.

I think "snickrat IHOP" before the interpretation was much more fun.

Perhaps this was a bit of a dry translation.

No. What is an IHOP? (because the word ihop ( i hop, "in a group") in Swedish mean "together").

IHOP stands for International House of Pancakes, it's a restaurant that I associate with "sticky" because of all the syrups they serve with their pancakes.

So, then a "snickrat IHOP" sounds like an IHOP restaurant with rats. But anyway, the word "snickrat" sounds funny all by itself. "You little snickrat!!!"

OK! Now I understand. I didn't know there was a place called IHOP which serves pancakes. And using the word as an "endearment" is quite allright.

I looked up "snickrat" in Swedish at Intertran and it says it means "carpenter".

BTW... if I go to Sweden, and I meet some guy in a nightclub should I just say "Kör i vind" to whatever he says?

No. I wouldn't do that (he might get ideas) and I think carpentry is the proper translation (even though when I first looked it up the other term was apparently OK too).

I always thought that ideas were good things to have, though. And wouldn't it be a nice thing for me to inspire some cute guy to have "ideas"?

I never really understood where the "International" came in... it just seemed like a place to get an all-American type of fat laden breakfast to me. Though I've heard that the English tend to have an even more fat laden breakfast than in the US. For me, I'll take a bowl of granola with soy milk or if I really need more, egg and potatoe taco with cheese and salsa. No sausage, eggs, bacon and the like for me.

"kön", "älska", and "ligga med varandra"

just curious... which is it?

I looked up their website, it says they have:
- "international omlete" which has ham, cheese, green peppers, onions and salsa.
- crepes... which have 3 styles... German pancakes (with lemon butter), French pancakes (with orange sauce), and Swedish pancakes (with lingonberries and lingonberry butter... whatever a lingonberry is)
- French toast
- Belgian waffles
