Yeah, hopefully.. And the darkness might be involved too, yes. Maybe I should visit sunny Sweden?

Do you have any snow there? Not in Stockholm, I guess..

Ha, I wish. No snow here, just rain. Same in Helsinki?

Getting to see this page was the highlight of this week, having not being able to get on for a while has really sucked.

Since it's the ranting thread, I suppose I'll rant again. The world has turned to madness. If there were a time that I could say the world is going through a second darkness, I'd say it's around this time.

A word of advice, probably everyone's heard it before: don't ever say anything can't get worse.

I would have to go as far to say that the events of the First Age would qualify as better than recent news and the state of the world now. Instead of a dark lord letting humanity have it, humanity is letting itself have it. When every button you press and every action you take results in disaster, that's pretty bad. "Well let's see, which button will not result in the complete annihilation of the Universe" is pretty much the standard decision of the day that some have to make.

I'm not all too sure what the immediate future has in store, but I'm almost certain it involves the Valar having to sing into existence a new universe to replace this one.

My girlfriend's the only one who makes it seem better. I'd give pain, life, and soul for her, and would do so in a New York minute, especially now. There's not much left except my life to give away now. She's a warrior and a surviver I'd have to say. I wish I had the strength or will to crack a smile. In the area we live in, just about everyone is having financial problems. Well, we still have our health and some level of determination, but that's masked by a lack of enthusiasm in things I usually find to be "fun". To bring the current situation back into order will require a lot of creative thinking.

Amy has this saying - "when your wishes fail, have hope, if hope fails, have faith; never even consider losing faith." Well, I have obviously not followed her advice well enough. I can't get the idea out of my head that I am God's exception, that I am not to be granted grace nor forgiveness nor mercy and in its place is despair. A terrible and dark day is when you lose all hope and faith. It's not the losing of faith that a lot of people get; some lose faith just so someone may pity them. Though others lose faith in the most absolute sense of losing faith, where they break down so much spiritually that they literally become a wraith or a ghost. I'm in the latter category. Where once was wisdom and faith is now foolishness and fell abandonment of faith.

Eventually some come to that time when they don't want to believe, because they feel that believing in something will prevent good from happening, and so beliefs are abandoned in the hopes that that will somehow work out. It doesn't. Even if you have confidence in your own abilities, something else out there will bring you down if you lose faith in whatever it is you have faith in. I feel rotten because of it. And in times as difficult as now, it's next to impossible for me to have faith in almost anything.

To sum all that up, I feel almost absolutely intolerable right now.

I'm sorry that you feel so bad, Ingwe If a Moothug will help, here's one: *Moothug*

God is often found in very dark places - keep searching.

He searches for those who fear the light so they may not fear the light any longer. I just hope he finds me in a hurry. My Moothug goes out to anyone in these situations. It's good to know that nobody's ever alone, unless they choose to be.

You're found, Ingwe.

Have you heard this song? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/His_Eye_is_on_the_Sparrow

I'm sure there are real tracks, somewhere, but my computer only reads Midi.

Ingwe, I'm very sorry you feel this way. If you'd like I'll pray for you?
And this may sound very stupid, but I think you see Amy as your light, but in my view what you feel for her and how you see her is part of your light.

Ughhh... Allergies... or... whatever.

I had a sore throat three days ago, but I could sing. Two days ago my throat was worse and I could barely sing. Yesterday my throat was a little better but my voice was still crackling, randomly breaking, and I had no falsetto/head voice.

This morning I woke up and I could barely move I felt so bad. My head was burning hot and I had a headache so bad I was crying, but the rest of me was alternately freezing or too hot. I woke up at 8 a.m. and couldn't get enough energy to get up off the bed till 11 a.m., then I barely crawled into the shower and must have sat in there for a good half hour. Then I got back in bed and couldn't get up again till 2 p.m. I finally took my temperature around 4 and I was at 100.2, and feeling a lot better, so I imagine I must've been running a fever earlier this morning.

I've also developed a simi-painful cough, but it's actually going away a little, now.

So hopefully I just caught something, and today was the worst of it. I can't afford to be sick or losing my voice this semester.

The bears have left their winter quarters here, and there's nothing for them to eat yet. They should be hibernating and giving birth at this point! I'll join you in your curse, Eä:

Sucks, Earniel, Nerdy, Mari. Especially Mari, I know what it feels like to have something heavy hit your foot (like, say...a horse, or a large SUV...)
