I saw Nurse Betty yesterday. Renee Zellweger, Morgan Freeman (doing pretty good), but Chris Rock was being his usual annoying self (talk about being type-casted).

Saw.

Now this is the type of film that I like. What a great psychological thriller, let down only by some twists at the end that border on the edge of plausibility.

But the utter frustration and feeling of helplessness and sheer desperation and madness was superbly portrayed by the surgeon in the final scenes (up until the point where he reassures the other dude). What a brilliant sequence.

I had a dream about telling my mom about that part in Life of Brian where the Romans are correcting Brian's grammar when he tries to write "Romans go home". In the dream I was laughing about it so much I was probably crying. It was weird.

How come your post is all greyed out, Anduril? PM me & tell me what you wrote; must have been juicy stuff to get censored like that!

Cool! What a trip; never knew about that function before. And I just passed 1,000 - go figure. Sometimes it takes me a while to catch on to stuff, I guess ...

People!
Listen. There is this wonderful film of Treasure Island, and it isn't by Disney.
The cast includes...

Charleton Heston as Silver
Christian Bale as Jim
Julian Glover as Livesay (one of my fav small time actors. He's also in Indy and the last crusade, empire strikes back, and a Sherlock Holmes episode-J. Brett's Sherlock)...anyways

Oliver Reed as Billy Bones
Christopher Lee(!) as Blind pete

and Pete Postlewaithe as...uh, I've forgotten.

Think that's all?

The Chieftains play the music.

And the best part is: the movie is very book following.

Grr...maybe, maybe not. I tried to keep searching on the next page, but it kept giving me "page expired" and the like. The search bar refused all searches for "Treasure Island heston" and "bale"....

I cannot stand john boorman's excalibur. It is excruciatingly painful to me to sit through that movie unless I am exceedingly stoned, and even then it still just makes me either laugh my ass off or get irrationally furious.

I just saw the most beautiful, killer film, it's "The Ballad of Jack and Rose", and I highly recommend it to everybody. What a wonderful flick. Plus, the music stoundtrack is freakin' awesome.

two thumbs up...

Well, IMO, it's one of the better ones. Lets not forget Sam Neill as Merlin in '98. Although it had its down parts, overall a unique presentation. ...IMO
