My university's cafeteria just started offering ENORMOUS baked potatoes. This is very, very dangerous for my waistline.
So yummy.... |

I just brightened up a crappy evening by discovering my old avvy!!!! I thought maybe it was lost forever, but apparently it was hidden away in the harddrive of the old computer. I drew that thing in a computer painting program years ago... anyone remember it? Someone called it the flaming potato.

I don't remember it - didn't you have another one before the green one, too?

Eh, it actually looks vaguely familiar, but not more than that. I remember seeing it, but I wouldn't be able to say whose avatar it was.

Well holy crap, no wonder no one remembers.
http://entmoot.com/showthread.php?p=...tato#post68706 It's from the way-back times. I had a couple.... the only ones I can remember for sure are that I used the green and orange leaf emblems for new/old messages... those are so pretty. I know I had some other ones though.... |

I'm not even sure I had even figured out what avatars were or if I even had one by then. *wonders again what her first avatar was, must have been a wave or a leafy seadragon*

we were having a LotR-marathon on Saturday (the extended editions, of course), the same day that there were support protests for the occupy wallstreet movement in over 900 cities around the world.
this somehow works well with that.

Yay! Looks like I have three steady voice students for the moment. Two for once-a-week lessons, and one for every-other-week lessons. I'm hoping to get some more... the youth theater where I'm teaching voice is turning out great, since apparently the mom was really impressed with how I taught one of the little girls and she's been talking me up. It's super nice of her. I made sure to thank her for all of the word of mouth promotion she's been giving me.

My sister and I went to see Gaelic Storm last night and IT. WAS. AWESOME.
They're so talented, and funny, that it was a non-stop amazing show. Pretty much every single person in the audience was dancing by the end of the show. It was so infectious that you just couldn't resist! Because of that, I'm taking today off of my church choir job. So I have a little free time (despite the fact that I'm getting up late ) to do whatever I want.... and I think that's gonna be to clean. It will be awesome to have a nice, clean room and car. |

Woohoo! Cutting back to 12 hours a semester only extends my plan one semester! I'll be graduating Spring of 2013.
That's very exciting. I thought it would push it back till Fall 2013. Just three more semesters to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately my boss probably isn't going to be very happy with my schedule for next semester, buuuuuut the good news is that although it doesn't leave me room to work at the church on t/th, I now have prime "teaching hours" for voice in the afternoons on M/T/Th/F/Saturday! So I should have plenty of room to pick up more students. Teaching voice is what I really want to be doing anyways, so... it's all working out. I can still work at the church on M/W/Friday, and my boss will be getting something he wants (afternoon time) because I can work M/W into the afternoon, which I have not been able to do till now. Now if I can just pass my classes this semester, I'm golden. Feeling VERY relieved right now! |

Thot I'd share a funny story here -
Most of you guys know that my middle son doesn't have legs. Well, that hasn't stopped him from doing many things - among other things, he holds 4 or 5 weightlifting records for his weight class (yes, his upper body is stronger than the upper body of a normal kid in his weight class, but have you ever tried to lift weights without legs?) The wrestling coach saw him lift weights (he weights 103 and benches 240) and wanted him on the wrestling team, so he started and is doing fairly well. Today was their first match, and on the way home on the team bus, they were rear-ended. The driver shouts out "Is everyone ok?" My son shouts back in a panicked voice, "I can't feel my legs!" There is this shocked silence for a split second until everyone realizes who said it, then the bus just erupted with laughter! (btw, his record is now 5-0, because there wasn't anyone in his weight class this time, so he got 5 automatic wins! He then wrestled above his weight class for experience, and got beat twice, but the first guy was last year's state champ, and the second guy was much more experienced than my son, as well as 20 pounds heavier! But he got some good experience.)

*chuckles* That's funny.
I know little about wrestling, but aren't you supposed to be standing though? Or am I thinking of boxing or something now?
