It was me that was confused . I didn't check the dates. As Thanksgiving was coming right up, I assumed it was a new thread. (Chuckles)

Yeah - At midnight I was going to start a new thread = Thanksgiving 2004. It's less confusing that way.

Oh and this year - Bush had the King and Queen of Spain at Crawford for an early Thanksgiving dinner.

Yeah...I did all that cooking last year! (Thanks Lief!) This year, we are going to husband's cousin's house and HE'S doing all the cooking (except I made a 7 layer salad) Yea!! Unfortunately, we are getting our first snowfall tonight! Bleah! Bad for driving.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

The stuffing is made, the turkey is stuffed and is now in the oven. Next - I need to prepare the patatoes to make mashed potatoes, and then make brocholli oreganto. After the turkey is done - I'll make the gravy and I even have an apple pie for later.

BTW - it's the same menu as last year - but instead of Dutch Apple Pie this year - I'm making Cinnamon French Apple Pie.

The Queen and King of Spain are lucky. Probably one of their first Thanksgivings . Not to mention having our president there .

One of my favorite holidays and we keep it very traditional. Almost the same every year.

I'm glad you call yourself "Mirthful Elven Maiden". Everyone I've ever roleplayed with has made their elves angry and dark (including myself ). But elves are supposed to be mirthful. Good job . Most commendable.

Happy Thanksgiving .

Thank you Leif!
Yes, I agree. Elves imo are not dark, but are cheerful

We weren't talking about barbeque turkey for Thanksgiving - we were talking about barbeque King and Queen of Spain.

Perhaps some America-loving Europeans do too, but it is an American holiday. Thanks for the blessing . In about half an hour, my family shall start to consume its marvelous Thanksgiving dinner.

It actually was about an hour before we started. Now we are finished. I am extremely relaxed. Indeed, I am half asleep now, drugged by the soporiphic effect of the turkey. That was splendid indeed. Comfort, ease, happiness, more comfort, ahhhhh . . . . . . . zzzzzzz

Yet more cannabalistic plans from the twisted mind of JD. *shakes head sadly*

So, what did you guys have for the meal? I hope both conversation and wine flowed freely!

Unfortunately there was no gravy this year. That was the real loss. My siblings missed the cranberry sauce, but to me that was no loss. Sure, it's excellent, but not to my tastebuds. We had turkey. We had stuffing which I wish I could describe to you. Have you ever had wild rice casserole? If so, even that may not be the same kind of rice casserole as I have . But anyway, it was like wild rice casserole. Then we had peas (expression is slightly frozen), and sweet potatoes, which were good. No, the peas were good, just not one of my absolute favorite things. Then there was a slightly fancy kind of roll. Perhaps it was a simple Thanksgiving compared to some, but it was a marvelous feast. I consumed primarily turkey, stuffing and sweet potatoes.

After that, we had four different kinds of pie available. Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Mincemeat Pie. Oh, I guess that we actually only had three . But there were four pies. Four pies, three types. With whipped cream. I only had one pie piece this time, as a matter of a fact, because I had so greatly filled up on the rest of the meal before. I also got one of the turkey drumsticks. That was truly excellent . After my stomach goes down a bit, I'll probably slide into the dining hall later this evening for a mug of postum and some more pie.

Splendid meal. Splendid, splendid meal . (Eyes shut on their own accord. Forces them open as an act of will )

My parents and our guests had wine. I still haven't gotten to the point of maturity where I greatly enjoy the flavor. I am certain I will, in the future.

(Shoves a thumb in the general direction of JD) I don't want this stunted piece of worm-ridden slime in my sight again. This begging treacherous twirp, despicable lover of filth. He shall surely pay in full for the devices his fiendish mind develops.
