I can see where it can be offensive and I can see where it should only be taken in the context that it is used in. I never actually thought that you were using deragatorily - although doesn't mean you don't have a problem with gays. I think this belongs in the PC thread.

Apology accepted. I'm sorry I flipped out.

I'm a bit touchy because I put up with similar remarks at school, but I really should learn to lighten up and remember that yes, it is a common word, though I wish it weren't.
JD's right; this does belong in some other thread, so I thank you once more for your apology and beleive we can now consider the case closed.

Back on topic once more. Umm . . . I accomplished surviving through 85 minutes of algebra class!! I was in hysterics by the end, somewhere between laughing and crying, but I did survive, which had been a doubtful outcome. I've never been any good with numbers.

I took my final today in my programming class, I only needed a 65 to keep my "A" in the class and I was the third person to finish the test. I was third because I was sitting around waiting for a missing input file from the instructor. But I then finished, and my program rocked!

I'm quite sure I got higher than a 65 on my final... which ensures I have an "A" in that class.

One more final tomorrow.

the word gay now has a huge negative conotation among teenagers in school.

kids who are picked on are called gay and faggets.

The other day I posted a comment on someomes blog - and someone else commented that my comment was "gay" I was like what does that mean?

The fact that it is also like that in Canada as we have just seen means that this isn't something that can or will be fixed any time soon.

SGH has repeatedly stated that the staff is not above the rules and it makles a bad impression on the community. When you act that way it undoes all of SGH's hard work and she has to start adminning the admins.
