Thats the problem with actors, you'll probably remember them playing another character all the time.
I definately can't watch a film with Elijah (like The Faculty and The Good Son) w/o thinking of Frodo. Same with Sean Astin in Rudy.
But not Viggo Mortensen because he looks so different in LoTR.
But I don't think I've seen another movie with Orlando yet. Does anyone know when that Pirates of the Carribean movie is coming out? soon?

Its hilarious and he's brilliant- you'll never look at Lord Elrond in the same way again! I watched it over new year and then went out and bought it. The only problem is now I can't watch LOTR or read it for that matter with visualizing him in all his great drag costumes. Its a good film though. Mx

I really looking forward to seeing this movie, but I don't know when it comes out. But I don't think that I'll think of Legolas when I see Orlando Bloom because they look so different. I would like to see Black Hawk Down with him, but my friends said the movie is stupid and he looks like 12 years old.

And it was really strange to see Sean Astin as a young boy in the film Boy Soldiers.

Julie, the film is actually not bad but its kind of hard core. I certainly wouldnt call it stupid. I dont know what they were watching. Several vietnam vets have told me Black Hawk Down is the most realistic combat movie ever made.

Gentle reminder: This is going off topic. The topic here is Elrond, and there is a whole thread called "Movie Actors" where you can discuss other movies the actors have been in.

Okay, as we should not talk about that in this message board just a short comment: Didn't see that movie with Sean Astin.

Back to Elrond:
Do you think he'll take part at the wedding of Arwen and Aragorn in the movie?

I think so. Surely he wouldn't miss his daughters wedding. Hopefully he won't ruin it by objecting halfway through the ceremony and take Arwen to Valinor with him.
I wonder if Galadriel will be attending. In the FOTR she says to Aragorn that they will not meet again. How mean not to attend your grandaughters wedding!

PS: I just saw the Goonies with Sean Astin. He is pretty cute.

But she was there in the book! How can PJ cut her part out! that would really make no sense.

yeah, but Galadriel was in the movie before and the audience already knows her so he can have the advantage of using a character which is already introduced.

i thought that Hugo Weaving did an awesome job considering that OJ had him wound a little too tight, even for a 6000 year old Elf, i can't (and wouldn't want to) see anyone else in that role.

off subject:
i think that for such a small role, Orlando did really good, i mean no one can fall out of a helicopter and break their back like him , (he's had that first hand experience, know what i mean)
I can't wait to see him in pirates of the carribean and ned kelly, honestly he's the only reason i'm gonna see 'em

Hey, Sauron's still the bad guy! Isn't he?

Seriously, I thought Sam's character was very well captured in the movies.

If PJ didn't get Sam right, I would have boycotted all three movies.

I didn't say that I don't like the work of PJ, I mean I love it, it's wonderful and it makes me dream of New Zealand.
(In fact, after I saw the first movie I dreamt of Hobbits).

I really liked it when PJ put these famous character lines into the movie. somehow all the important sentences seem to be in it, although not all at the same place like in the book.
