ahhh riiiight, the stabbing thing. Must remember to stay away in dark forests and never rile him over dinner.

Well, let's see...

Gandalf... smokes too much.
Aragorn... too much camping out.
Tuor... a war against armies of balrogs and dragons might dampen my enthusiasm for his company.
Eowyn... too moody.
Legolas... too many fangirls.
Valar.. too holier than thou.
Gimli... I can't stand hair in my food.
Boromir... windbag.
Faramir... Okay, his idea of a good hiding place is a waterfall. Like no one would ever find that.
Ents.. Can't last very long on a liquid lunch. I guess if there was a cheap chinese food place near by...

I think I'll just stay in Lothlorien with Galadriel eating lembas and drinking miruvor. Of course Melian's got that whole girdle thing going.

Yeah, the very idea of Thingol would keep me away from Melian. . .

*evil grin*
How 'bout who you'd feel the least safe with? (not including orcs, balrogs, rogue maia, former vala, and dragons)

I'd have to say Feanor

This states "Middle Earth" Valinor is it's own

I'd say Beleg 'cuz he is cool
Glorfindel 'Cuz he is a Noldo Lord
And the one that Died for Beren in the pits/dungions of Sauron
Finrod Felagund 'cuz He died for his friend (I know it was the oath but still he is cool)
gandalf the white 'cuz my sister says he is the most powerful being on Middle Earth
And the Tom Bombadil bit, he would never leave his area thinger so you wouldn't get to explore.
Ha HA this is funny

Cool Ive been looking for The Tom Bombadil thread here. Since its a pretty huge subject among the Tolkien folk. Also looking for one about how people felt about him being completely excluded from the movies. Where do I find them?

Use the search feature, located in the upper right-hand corner. a search using 'Bombadil' on just the thread titles brings up a number of threads in both the Movies forum, and the books forum.

No kidding.. just because he's a lightning rod, doesn't mean you're not connected at the hip with tin foil.

lol! I didn't know what that meant two weeks ago.I didn't mean "camping" out. I meant sleeping outdoors.

Okay, okay, so nobody likes Turin.

Should we consider all candidates at their worst moments? Should we think of gandalf right when he is fighting the balrog?

Hurin would be good... until the end. Same with Fingolfin.

Hey! How 'bout Cirdan. Survived all the wars and ages, has nice ships and knows the way to valinor. Okay, the women might not feel safe with a lonely bachelor sailor.. then again he may have an elfgirl in every port.

Well, I tried to stick with Turin, and now where am I? In a mortal's body thousands of years later! The only way I can converse with others is at some kind of disembodied "entmoot" thing...

Yeah. You should NOT feel safe around Turin: his friends die first.

My first thought was Gandalf, as he has pretty much everything going for him in a fight, but I think Tom Bombadil would be my first choice.

the character i would feel the safest with would probably have to be legolas....mostly because he is an archer,,,,he could instantly range anything in sight.....(elves are comforting to be around).

Legolas dropped his bow when he saw the Balrog in the Mines of Moria. He probably soiled himself.

Great bodyguard.

I was just thinking, I don't think anyone could protect you from every thing. Gandalf died, and the only reason ( I may be wrong ) he was brought back to life was 'cuz his perpose was not yet fulfilled(spl?) SO I say go with the one that will protect (defend or what ever you like) you to the end.

Wow this is really hard. Probably Gandalf, he's always got something up his sleeve. But also Boromir or Strider, because both would fight until they absolutely were unable to. They're both good, trustworthy men.
