Even if the helmet on the alleged Gimli is different, it does not mean that it is not Gimli...he chose a new helm at Edoras (of course he took a shield also, and I don't see one of those in the picture....plus I SERIOUSLY doubt that they are going to be that exacting..). Then again, it may just be a stand in...wouldn't Gimli have to be digitally added in order to be shrunk down to size?

nope: they don't use digital techniques in order to shrunk dwarves nor hobbits. they simply use short guys for the distant shots.

For long shots that's true, but they are using digital techniques for closer shots, as well as trick camera angles.

Hi. I'm new here. But I agree that it looks like Legolas and Gimli. Plus, didn't they ride with all the "Big Shots"? Like Theoden, Eomer, and the rest. Granted in the book it sounds like Eomer rides in middle to back of the army, but in the movie I would guess that they'd stick him in the front.

I'll go with Legolas and Gimli. I think the tall rider definitely looks like Legolas. Although I can't really make out the outfit, the hair looks right.
