I got the album at last, from Amazon because no shops round here (or anywhere else as far as I could tell) are selling it. It's so good!

My song called Broken Angel was better! I was guilty of pre-emptive plagerism!

Hey! Hnason has a crappy kinda quality. I like it. It is different from other pop. I recomend the Middle of Nowher songbook to learn guitar from... it's Sun-star's copy NOT mine!!!
I haven't actually heard the album yet, I just listened to that one song because I'd recently written one with the same name.

Ah caught you smiling at me, That's the way it should be,
Like a leaf is to a tree, so fine.
Ah all the good times we had, I sang love songs so glad
Always smiling, never sad, so fine.
As we walk down the country lanes, I'll be singing a song,
Hear me calling your name.
Hear the wind within the trees, Telling Mother Nature 'bout you and me.

"Yeah. And Grizzly Adams had a beard."

'Grizzly Adams did have a beard."

Huh! Before I was so rudely interrupted... I've written this about four times now. Excuse it if it is less amusing and infiitly more snappy.
Penny and me is amazing
Mature and crafted but yet classic Hanson and euphoric and full of energy.

Hey.

Anyone else notice the similarity between 'Hey' sounds a lot like 'Sweet Home Alabama' by Lynrnd Skynrd? Nope? Just me then.

My daughter has been a Hanson fan since 1996. On July 7 & 8, they are performing in Tulsa, and we're going to see them there.

They have a web site which has a forum for paid members and a free part.

Hanson has put out several albums since the Middle of Nowhere. To judge any group by one song that they recorded over seven years ago doesn't make much sense to me. Please read some of the previous posts. You will see that their music has matured and is quite interesting.

I tentatively agree. But let's not pretend Hanson's lyrics ever had or will have the depth of proper poetry. Having said that, recent stuff really shows up the majority of pop music. :Old style happy smilie:*

*I'm on strike against the weird new embarrassed and happy smilies.

Janny,

I'm not sure what you mean by proper poetry. I think that MMMBop was written and almost in its final form before Isaac was a teenager.

It's often hard for people to understand Hanson's lyrics because of the way Tayor sings. (I'm not trying to put him down.) In my opinion, I think that MMMBop's lyrics are very good when compared to the average pop song.

Hanson MMMBop lyrics
(I. Hanson/T. Hanson/Z. Hanson)

You have so many relationships in this life,
But only one or two will last.
You go through all the pain and strife,
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast.

Oh yeah. They're gone so fast.

Oh, so hold on to the ones who really care,
In the end they'll be the only ones there.
When you get old and start losing your hair,
Can you tell me who will still care?
Can you tell me who will still care? Oh care.

And their later songs are getting better and more interesting.

Hanza,

I agree with you. Even though they don't have the huge audience they once had, they have a strong core of devoted fans which are sticking with them. Since they are going the independent route, they will be doing things their way. They are not being forced by a label to do what is commercial, and I think that they will really do much better in the end.
