I did not close the other thread. Just because I am listed as the mod of this forum, doesn't mean that other mods/admins can't close threads in this forum. My guess though would be that this whole forum is about books we like. Or because there is already another thread.

*Perelandra--CSLewis *Tale of Two Cities--Dickens *Pride and Prejudice--Austen (you can't top the character development--mrs bennett is hilarious) *Alice in Wonderland--Carroll *Sylvie and Bruno--Carroll (even better than AiW and Through the Lookin Glass if you can believe it) and many, many, many, many more!!! My mom told me that the Reader's Digest defines us bookish types as "bibliophiles"

Every Calvin and Hobbes book ever published. Especially Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons, Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat, Revenge of the Baby-Sat, Scientific Progress Goes "Boink", and It's a Magical World. (Guess that's most of them, huh?) I know they're not novels, but they're some of my favorite books.

Toughie question. In random order (because my brain is scattered):
The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R. King A Monstrous Regiment of Women by Laurie R. King (the whole Mary Russell series is great, but those two are the best) The League of Frightened Men by Rex Stout The original Doctor Doolittle book, I forget the author. I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris Where the Red Fern Grows I agree with Radagast is a great and touching book. Captain's Courageous by Rudyard Kipling And there's a really cute, cute, cute, children's book called Unlovable about a pug dog that's fun to read. Can't think of any others at the moment....

Put Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four near the top of my list. I read it a few months ago, and... wow. It just blew me away on all levels, and I very literally could not put it down.
