Only if you want to. I'm not that much of a purist.

Well, if it helps, I am, so I wouldn't make something like that up.
The only part of this I'm making up (although I can provide textual evidence to prove that it's not impossible) is that Finrod and Amárië are actually married, and they have a son. That Finrod has never met... Quote:

I would be a purist, except that gap-fillers and speculatories are far too much fun.
I'm assuming the son is Gildor, yes? I've run across fan written versions where Glorfindel is Finrod's son under similar circumstances. Very bizarre, yet oddly satisfying...

I see a lot of room for those even with being to some extent a purist. I agree that they are much fun!

Nope, not Gildor. His son is still in Valinor.
He didn't come with him into exile... It's my theory that one of the reasons Amárië didn't come with him was because she was pregnant.

... I'm more tired than I thought, forgetting that detail.
And Galadriel's logic in my last post really lends itself to irony given the end of the third age...

Considering Findaráto's mood in this post, I think I'd better leave the next reply to Aikanáro.

Shiny.
Is it just me or are elf-lords just adorable when angsty? And speaking of angsty elf-lords... get thee to the second age! Elrond feels neglected.

I love angsty elf-lords. It's why I play them.
Alright, alright, on my way to the second age. :P Oh, and if I seem to refer to Ama a lot, it's because I play her on another board, and I <3 her so much. :-D

Hah! Now you get to comfort the angsty elf-lady!
You know, she'd be a lot friendlier to her brothers if, say, they sent out some warriors to help extract her husband from the spider-webs and bring him back safely...

What about if Finrod just has one of his many moments of foresight? He seems to do that quite frequently in the texts.
Finrod and fighting aren't good friends...the one time he actually goes out and tries to do battle he gets his butt kicked and has to be saved by Barahir.

Poor Finrod!
Aikanáro, now, is much better where fighting is concerned - whether he's in any mood to go save Celeborn is another matter entirely.

Or whether Celeborn is in any mood to be rescued!
Foresight works.
