My favourite band is The Beatles, so I guess they're classified as rock.
So: The Beatles (Hey Jude--Lady Madonna--Let It Be) Bon Jovi (Misunderstood--It's My Life) Matchbox 20 (Diesease(it's the only Matchbox 20 song that I know the title of)

I've been listening to a garage sale cassette. "T-Rextasy", a greatest hits of Marc Bolan's fabulous band. I had forgotton how unique the sound was! I was a total fangirl, then he died! The big hits are there, Bang a Gong, Get It On....Telegram Sam....Jeepster....Metal Guru, but the the lesser hits, album filler, UK hits or whatever they were, I had forgotton. Such a wild sound! Ziggy Stardust and Gary Glitter were thieves! (IMO). 20th Century Boy has the power chord sublime! Ride a White Swan is a trip! Every song is somewhat bizarre and cool! The bongo rythm and the (almost annoying!) weird female backgound vocals are quite unusual! Marc's guitar work and that Gary Glitter synthesizer make this (IMO) ...Roots of Glam and Glitter! I was such a fangirl, but I didn't realize why I was so crazy about them. I always fancied that coolisimo bongo player! Hope at least one other person remembers this band! Sorry to ramble.

Korn are pioneers of metal? hah. going since the early 90s? metal has existed since the 70s so suck it. slipnot is weak and lame, but definately not metal (industrial and nu metal are, despite the name, not metal) don't call me buddy. the last one that did that is still recovering.
