"They say that the name you choose for your dog says as much about you as it does about your four legged friend.

If you plan to use your dog as a therapy dog, for search & rescue or the with the public be very careful of the name you choose. A seniour or a child might be a bit scared around around a dog called Fang, Brutus or Cujo.

Just in case you were wondering, the most popular puppy name in the USA is Max [or Sam, according to a different source]"

Don't give Buddy a common name. Name him something special and unusual

He didn't seem to like any of the ME names I was tossing at him. Because he vetoed those, I actually started leaning towards something old fashioned, like Rover or something.

I called him 'Buster', just to see if he liked that name, since he was completely ignoring all the other names I presented him, including 'Beren'. He came right away... bounded over like that was his real name.

I think he has found his own name. We'll see. I'll give it a little time to sink in and we'll see.

He chose "Buster" for his name. I don't know why he didn't like "Hector", I liked it more than "Buster"... but hey, it's his name.

I opened some webpages for him. Make sure you see both pages. If you want, you can sign his guestbook, too. He has his own e-mail account also.

Look at your num pad. The numbers 7, 4, 1 and 0 are in a vertical line . Same thing with Gollum9630.

Told you he looked like a Buster! (Hector is a good name, tho')

Glad to see it all worked out for you. He looks like a great dog: lots of character in that face.

Wow... I just read the story you posted. So, damn sad. It breaks my heart, but it's true, people don't understand that a dog is a 15 year commitment.

This was one of the reasons why I wanted to adopt an adult dog and not a puppy. Puppies are easily adopted from a shelter. But grown dogs are passed over time and time again. You can still train adult dogs, people think you can't... but that's not true. You just have to be very committed and very patient with them (and have lots of treats).

There was a question on the application about what would you do if you had a life changing event in your life and was unable to care for the dog any longer. I wrote, "he will be willed back to you. My dog is with me until I die."

The board member that helped me get Buster (formerly Buddy) back from the foster mother saw Buster's webpages and wrote me back. She thought they were great! She said she laughed so hard, especially over the goat picture. She has sent the webpage url around the SPCA.
