Have you Wikied
Made my first (and probably last) edit at Wiki- added a reference to Fritz Leiber`s ChangeWar series in the `Alternate History- Fiction` article.
Anyone else (sorry, my question mark key has suddenly died) |

Yes, there is a Star Trek wiki called Memory Alpha and I edited the Vic Fontaine material. They had all his songs as "a song by Frank Sinatra". Sinatra didn't write a song in his life! So I put the actual lyrics and composer information there. That's my one and only wiki edit ever. It was a lot more work than I ever imagined.

Yeah, I took out a reference to a tourist attraction near where I live which is now closed. Didn't want people turning up and being disappointed
However, realising how easy it is for anyone to make edits like that has made me very cautious about believing anything Wiki says. |

That's true sun-star, but as a general rule, you should cross-check everything before using it as a tool - that's what I do.

All Wiki stuff can be discussed in one place.

Speaking of which. Should the Moot be an External Link at the Wikipedia's Lord of the Rings page?

I`ve seen a couple of articles there that I regard as blatantly biased; makes you wonder how much slips under the radar. |

Much IMO. A while ago there was a lot to do about a student that had put on the Wikipedia a bit where he said one of his professors at the university was dead. Wikipedia accepted it without fail. The professor in question was not amused.

And there was the famous case of the guy who claimed his co-worker was involved in the Kennedy assassination.
I wish people were equally skeptical about standard texts like the dictionary. Webster's Third, for instance, conflates infer and imply. By the way, if you think a section of an article is prejudiced, you can discuss it in a related page. |

Wow, ain't this a surprising bump. Ben found the idea interesting, and I'm not sure where he's gone from there.
As for the general Entmoot article in standard Wikipedia, I have done nothing. I don't know what I'll say.

don't wait for Ben (bmilder) to do anything - because he won't.
