If they dont like Tolkein, that's when we lock them up until they're on the brink of death by boredom and then let them read it. I was also thinking that we should make them wait two days between books with them dying to know what happensThat'll make them respect great writing!!! Myahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!
I know what it's like to be crazy. I have Tolkein-inflicted insanity. I guess I'm probably not too sweet. I would corrupt through hatred of all non-Tolkien lovers.

"Gone crazy. Be back in a minute."
"I don't suffer from Insanity...I enjoy every minute of it!" Those are both bumperstickers I saw... See...if we lock them up...well...I like the idea, but there are some people who just DON'T CARE. And it makes me really annoyed...yargh. Oh well. I suppose we could get Saruman to help beat some sense into them...well...MAKE him help, that is...poor dear Sharky... I have another one: "Gone to Middle Earth. Don't expect my return." (That would be me...) tano

*brightens up* But now I have one of those One Ring replicas . . . Birthdays are good for things sometimes. I'm thinking of actually sinking it in our old fish tank . . . but I will risk no hurt to this thing, of all the works of Sauron the only fair. It is precious to me, although I buy it with great pain . . .

Hmmmm, a curly question indeed, what to do with a Ring of Power? 1. Ban all Harry Potter stuff. 2. Mock all Star Wars Stuff.
3. Taunt Buffy fans 4. Sleep with Liv Tyler 5. Invade Peter Jackson's dreams every night until he makes a REALLY CRACKING GOOD version of Return of the King 6. Ensure that all Balrogs have wings, whether they want them or not 7. Slap Pippin for being a Very Naughty Boy 8. Elevate all Monty Python members to DemiGod status 9. Eat crumpets daily 10. Nuke Hollywood.

laurelyn,
So sorry to hear that. Poor fishhhh.
BTW, how many One Rings do you intend to get? P.S. I just thought of another thing to do if I had the real One Ring: But I won't tell coz it's mine I tell you, it too is precious to me and you will steal it! A-ha I thought of another one, and another one! 3 things to do with the One Ring which I shall keep secret and safe!

I agree w/ Arathorn- I would be hard pressed to give away my secret desires... but ultimately, knowing how I would end up, I would never want the opportunity or the offer of the One Ring.

I think cause they're catering to a larger audience than just us EIDRIORCQWSDAKLMEDDCWWTIWOATTOPWFIO's, if you catch my meaning (if not...um...well, it basically means the-tolkien-obsessed. )
See...if I go up to some person and ask if they know what LOTR is and they know about the one ring and all...and they say yes...and then I ask them about nenya, narya and vilya...many people would give me a blank look and go "whaaat?" *sigh* Merchandising... -tano

It is a veil that still holds sway among these un-enlightened ones. Morgoth, it seems, has not but a few allies in his service in the world. We must sally forth against the ignorance!
9-Fingers Lives! <cough, cough, ahem> Don't worry, the ring is quite safe, young masters, nice mooterses. No sneakin' going on around here, yesss? yesss? No, no, we won't say where it is but quite safe, quite safe, yessss...

Well, I cant say for the One Ring... I still hold to the idea that I never even want to be offered it, for I doubt I would be able to turn it down...... however, I happen to know Narya is quite safe.... yes, quite safe indeed.
