There are currently adds for 'Lord of the Dance' on TV and I always perk up and think its for the LOTR!

When I received my class booklist for this year some time back, the two books listed for supplementary reading were The Hobbit and Lord of the Flies. Since I hadn't heard of the latter then and it was right beside The Hobbit, I thought it was a typo and we'd get to study LotR! Wow! Then I got the book, read the first page and dumped it.

I still think LotF is a crap book.

Sauron - dino'saur's

Manwe - hey 'man - we' gotta go!

Galadriel - I'm so 'galad' to meet you

Bolger - 'boulder'

Rohan - 'Johann' Sebastian Bach

Mordor - 'murder'

Most of these I don't think of anymore, but they really bugged me when I first read some of the names.
