I guess I have to sympathize with WK here... but I think the rules state that Spock could post a question.

Well I did state, in post # 43, that I'd wait 24hrs., so we wait until roughly 1pm before I'll post the next question.

The elven rope that Sam and Frodo used to get down the cliff in Emyn Muil, because it came down after them.

Gee, it wasn't the rope 'cause when Sam 'called the rope' and it untied itself, Frodo said "the rope must have broken-frayed on the rock-edge, I expect". To which Sam said "I bet it didn't" and then examined the ends and stated "nor it hasn't neither, not a strand!" very good, ya got me, I missed the word "suggested"

What Spock said. The only possibility I could come up with would be someone's coat, or cloak or something, but I don't remember ever having read about any clothing getting frayed, either... New question, please.

Spock got it.
It appears there's been a little bit of ambiguity...when I said "suggested", I meant "suggested by Sam", as opposed to "suggested by Tolkien"...who cares, your turn.

I did get it right, and I was debating internally whether to be indignantly silent, or indignantly voluble . Here's my question, then:
"What customs do the men of Gondor follow before a meal?" [three are mentioned]

They pause for a moment of silence, while looking West. I can't remember a third, unless it is that they wash their hands in the bowl of water which Sam washed his face with!
