I hate the Yankees. 'Nuff said. I don't know if I'll even watch the World Series.

BOOOOO!! HISSSS!!

OOOOOOOHHHHHH......OOOOOOOOHHHH.....the pain!!!

It's all the manager's fault! He should have pulled Pedro in the sixth, it was so obvious even to me, who knows nothing and doesn't get paid oodles. I fault him and the weak outfield. Not pulling Pedro even in the eighth (oh, the eighth, may I not be reminded of that cruel, cruel inning) was even worse!

Anyway, I'll be happy rooting for the Marlins since I live in FL now, but I'm with you, Khamul, I probably won't even watch it because who cares? Who wants to watch two teams who have already won recently? No one cares about the Marlins, and the Yankees are such old news ("oh, big whoop, they won another one" ) But still, I hope the Marlins wipe the floor with them *please, please wipe the floor with the Yankees*.

The frustrating thing is that obviously the Red Sox and the Yankees were teams of equal calibre, both winning three games, then having such a close match in the seventh game, with extra innings for that one tiny point...neither one was really better than the other, but that doesn't matter in the end, it's just the one that makes it to the Series. (That used to happen with the Braves every year in the early '90s, until the finally won. It was so frustrating.)

The Braves are the biggest choke artists in pro sports. They consistently have one of the best records in baseball and have won 12 straight division titles. And what do they have to show for it? One World Series victory. It's ok though, they're still my favorite team.

Btw, I'm keeping my avatar.

Who cares what happens tonight?

There are not any good teams playing.

I guess I should cast my vote for the Marlins, as I must support whoever plays the Yankees...

Hey think about it. Only three more months till they start reporting for preseason work outs. So "next year" isnt as far as you think...

I am angry and happy about the way things turned out.

YES -- the Marlins won, but the Cubs lost to them (loser team, but I owe my loyalty), so sad.

YES -- the Yankees lost, but THEY didn't go up against the Cubs and win to get into the finals.

Mixed feelings.

I agree -- there was vindication, but it was a hollow victory.

because they win too much. 26 world series titles?! spread the wealth! plus its widely percieved that they simply buy their way to the top because of their market power vs. say a minnesota or a montreal who have a hard time scraping together the funds to make huge off season moves. so people resent them for basically playing with an unfair advantage. then of course theres the whole arrogant new york attitude of of course the yankees should win. and when they actually DONT win well thats just unacceptable. plus Steinbrenner's an ass. and the bottom line is when you win so much yer gonna piss a lot of people off who you beat. Im an orioles fan and the yankees have beaten the O's so many times that all I want is for ANYONE to beat them. after the 1996 playoff fiasco Ive dispised the team.

oh and it doesnt help that i have a bunch of friends who are yankee fans who are always rubbing it in my face...

Well the yankees have so much money because they are so popular. They have a rich history, and their money comes from having the highest attendence records and are probably the best sellers when it comes to merchandise. The Yankees make a lot of money that they spend.

And having a lot of money doesn't always make a good team. Look at the Mets. I think they have one of the most expensive teams in the league, and they suck. And look at the Marlins. They didn't need huge attendence numbers to put together a great team.

I can see your point though. It's like hating the popular kids in school cuz they're so popular.

I respect the Yankees as a talented team with a lot of history. My reason is just that I'm an actual Red Sox fan because of my ties to the area, so the Yankees are my natural nemeses.
Besides I've always loved underdogs.
