I've a DVD of an Anglican Use mass; it's quite lovely. I have a copy of the BDW, too. My one objection, really, is that they stuck you with the neutered offertory.

Is your family "native" Anglican use, or are they flustered RC who go to the AU?

P. S. you realise, don't you, that telling us that gives us a huge hint as to your location? Nearly all AU parishes are in Texas.

OMGYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to learn to program again... I've always, ALWAYS gotten stuck on the first parts of tutorials... the programs just never worked for me. But today, I went back to one that I'd gotten to the second part of before being unable to continue...

And I got to part six!!!!

So now I just made a program where it tells a little story about meeting an elf. You can then choose to 'kill' the elf, or just hit enter. If you type in kill, you have a 50% chance of killing the elf, or of failing. If you just hit enter, the story continues.

AND I GOT IT RIGHT!!!!!

Take THAT, if/then statements!

I'm using the RUBY programing language, and an online guide I found by googling, 'learning RUBY' .

I refuse, you lazy bugger.

Go find it yourself!

I tease, of course .

http://pine.fm/LearnToProgram/

It's fantastic... RUBY is much simpler to learn than C, from the bits that I've done. I've seen some examples of pretty intense code done in 30 or less lines of RUBY that take tons and tons of C lines.

I'm sure C has lots of advantages over RUBY in some cases, but for what I want, RUBY is an excellent choice.

Also: I'm not sure if it's what you meant or not, but if you're looking for a direct step-by-step of what I created, then this guide doesn't give you -exactly- that. I took the steps from various points and globbed them all together myself by experimenting with various other programs I'd written earlier in RUBY.

Now if you just want the tools that will let you create things like that, and certainly code much more powerful things as well, then the guide I'm using will certainly let you glob your own stuff together .

If you'd like, I can send you my code, although I don't doubt if that's what you're interested in, you can figure out how to do all of it yourself much faster than I did. Coding is something I want to do, but not really something I seem to have a natural talent for .

Happy because I got my driver's license today or...*checks time* yesterday, as it were.

Not so happy because now my mother uses me as an errand-girl.

Hah! That's what I always theorized would happen when one got their license.

I tend to favour the view that the Mass should bring us to God, not bring God to us, but to each his own.

Well, and this one will bring those heathen Jews back into the fold, so THAT'S all to the good.

Dang Jews!!!! o(>.<)O

I kid. I personally do find that most of the modern masses feel a little irreverent, at least to me. Something about the informality seems more like yer havin' a talk with cuzin' Joe more than praying to an omnipotent deity...

BUT, on the other hand, as Ryan says, so long as people are actually following the rules of the Church, I think it's fine.

Now, again, I do choose to attend a much more traditional parish [sp?], because I LOVE the music, and how beautiful the building and mass itself are.
