Young people shouldn't die. I can think, "Hey, she was 90. It's understandable." But not less than that.

This is pretty funny:
Three men - a Canadian farmer, Osama bin Laden and a Hillbilly are all working together one day. They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it. "I will give each of you one wish, which is three wishes in total," says the Genie. The Canadian says, "I am a farmer and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada." POOF! With the blink of the Genie's eye, the land in Canada was forever fertile for farming. Osama was amazed, so he said, "I want a wall around Afghanistan, Palestine , Iraq and Iran so that no infidels, Americans or Canadians can come in our precious land." POOF! Again, with the blink of the Genie's eye, there was a huge wall around those countries. The Hillbilly says, "I am very curious. Please tell me more about this wall." The Genie explains, "Well, it's about 5,000 feet high, 5oo feet thick and completely surrounds the country. Nothing can get in or out; it's virtually impenetrable." The Hillbilly sits down, cracks a beer, smiles, and says, "Fill it with water." I pretty much vote this my favorite email of the year....

Yay! I'm going to move my piano in this Saturday. I'm going to drive my neighbours and you all crazy with my practicing of Für Elise and Sarabande (thanks to Eärniel for the inspiration).
I play Silent Night fairly well now, but the Christmas season is over, the tree burned, so I can't play that anymore. After this, I'll try Canon by Pachebell, the whole version, not the abbreviated one. Sorry, too much pianotalk... I'm glad to get the thing away from my sister though. She is a ....... genius, playing everything I've practiced for hours perfectly within a few minutes. Fortunately she doesn't really like classic music, so she mainly tries out different kind of songs. Okay, way too much pianotalk. I'll shut up about it.

Heheh, glad to have been of service. The Sarabande continues to be a bit of a conundrum at our house, though. I know I know it, but I've checked all our classical music CD's and it is not on there, how can I know it if I don't have it in my collection? Questions, questions. Ah well, it's a good excuse to expand my classical music library.
Oooh, Pachelbell's Canon is one of my favourites!

I sang it with my chorus for Christmas and it was lovely, though not perfect. I've been trying ever since to learn the accompanyment. At the performance itself we had a violin player and a genius piano player accompanying us.
Canon by Musy Tone (01-2007)
