Also, the Church appoints a 'prosecuting attorney' to investigate the miracles and see if he can turn up any negative evidence- natural explanations, overhyping etc.
I don't know much about it, , this guy may be in the position of an overworked and outgunned public defender, but at least the Catholic Church makes the effort- good for them.

Well, he's already something of a patron saint. The more I learn about him, the more I am convinced that he's Canonization material.

And what of the miracles? Were you cured after reading his book or something like that?

Well, we'll just have to see what we can cook up.
Though drawing any Protestant to the Roman Church could be considered a miracle.

We still need more miracles. Okay, Arien, Entlover, sun-star, and all other Catholics out there, start asking Tolkien to intercede with God for us!

For even more info - check out New Advent's Beatification and Canonization in their online Catholic Encyclopedia. It's not just that the person was "good"

Hello everyone, I am Silme. Please don't call me slime, I think it is very rude and disrespectful and I get enough of that at home and I don't need it here.

Hello, Silme! Did you want to join in the discussion, or did you have respectful questions about other religions to ask?

I've a question for the Catholics/ex-Catholics of this board:
Why crucifixes, instead of crosses? It's not really something that I've thought abot before, but it suddenly occured to me that in my investigation of the Catholic faith, I have never seen where this is mentioned, and I was wondering if ye olde mooters could answer this question?

Thanks. I'll see if I can get my hands on it.
I also noticed the word "Deuterocanonicals" used a good deal, in regards to Bibles. What does this mean?
