A Riddle:

Ere Darkness fell or Dragons walked
We roamed the earth, we loved to talk.
Yet Time has passed, the Ages flee.
Of the First, we are but Three.

Ah thanks!

Is the answer to your riddle perhaps the three eldest Ents? Let's see if I still remember them: Treebeard, Skinbark and Leaflock?

You pounced on that one so fast my head is spinning!
I had only just composed it but it is difficult to stump Earniel for any length of time. You are right yet again Earniel! Thank you for guessing at my riddle. The Elvish names for the eldest of Ents are:
Fangorn, Finglas, and Fladrif.
Well, back to the drawing board. I shall endeavor to create a harder one for you.

While working on another one, I came up with this little riddle...

When you’re near this northern star
a royal presence cannot be far.

Hello Sister Golden Hair! It is so good to see you in here again! Nice guess too (since it is the right one). Thank you for guessing at my little riddle! I will have some more shortly. Creating riddles for y'all is a fun hobby for me.

That goes for you too Radagast. I wish you would come in here more often. Your knowledge and input is always welcome!

I'll try a riddle Kieth.

I bore a friend from danger
with speeds that were no match
by enemies that chased us
their beasts drowning for the catch.

Who am I?

In a way you were right too RTB, because it (the Star of Elendil) represented Earendil who served as a guide to the Edain when they sailed to Numenor.

The Star of Elendil was called the Star of the North.

Good job. Okay here's another one.

Evil maybe, maybe not
but treacherous I am
I helped the Ringbearer on his road
though I had an underlying plan

Nice riddles Sister Golden Hair! Easy or difficult, riddles are fun!
Here's my next submission:

Brightly blazing heirloom's power
brings fear to foes who quail and cower.
Even should you wear the One
It's brilliance cannot be undone.
