I read this and I have come to the conclusion that whoever wrote this is very very severely confused. He seems to just be writing stuff down without thinking about what it means. You know those stories that you write with a group, where each person writes a sentence and passes it to the next person, covering up everything but the very last sentence/paragraph that was written..? That's what this read like.

Especially the end bit, where he says that he used those quotes exclusively from evolutionists. I mean, talk about putting a spin on them! It's like he got a whole bunch of monkeys in to type it for him!

Wow, that makes incredibly little sense. The author deserves an award. *gives author award for Most Nonsensical Article*

What about all the theistic evolutionists out there? Oh well, according to whoever wrote that, they don't exist. Sorry, guys!

All you atheists: ATTENTION!
I truely believe in the rapture of the followers of Jesus Christ, and I believe that everything going on in Israel is drawing us closer and closer to that rapture. So, if one day you notice I stop posting and thousands of people around the world disappear, please consider that as evidence for Jesus, THANKS!
Emplynx, should we take your continued presence as evidence against God?

Well, I didn't finish the article (my brain is fried), but I shall try to put forth a logical argument here.

I'm not disputing the fact that there are theistic evolutionists, but I would submit to you that they are rather inconsistent in their faith. Here we must stop and define theistic evolution. As I understand it, it is the belief that God created the world by instigating the big bang.
To believe in evolution, (and here I'm talking about macro evolution) you must believe that the earth was hundreds of millions of years old before Adam and Eve came along. This would mean that death was in the world before Adam.
A very crucial point, because the punishment for the sin committed by Adam and Eve was death. If that was already present, what kind of punishment was that? Theistic Evolution should be impossible for the Christian to accept, b/c it would totally negate Jesus' death on the cross.

Do I make sense?

Yes, that makes tonnes of sense. I can now see, where you are coming from, and why theistic evolution IS such a problem. Still, there have been species that existed before hominids, specifically dinosaurs, who, as far as I know it, experienced death.

Yay! I make sense! Maybe I am a semi-logical human being after all!

PS. I believe that there were dinosaurs on Noah's ark

That's strange since hominids and dinosaurs didn't co-exist at all....

And just HOW big was this ark? I mean, dinosaurs are pretty big you know....

Wayfarer ol' buddy...
Quote:
I find it funny that, after all the athiests I've known who refuse to believe in 'some old man in the sky', you're trying to convince me that's what he is.
Or, more likely, what he is claimed to be.

Join me in a thought. If God exists outside of time, outside of space, is self-existent, he should exist as an eternal cause. You claim it was God who created the universe - if so, then god must still be creating the universe - God is changeless, you know.

Or, are you implying that God, in his divine transcendence, has part of himself inside our universe, and the rest outside it? What would be the implications or nature of such a being? Would it be able to perform any actions? Would it be able to change its state at all? Please explain this one.

Perhaps you would be so kind as to show how God covered Abraham's face with his hand, so that Abraham would not be able to see God's "rear parts"? How is this possible with a timeless being? How can an action take place if there is no time for it to take place in? How can a being interact in a universe, and still not operate in time? God must place himself inside time to perform actions. It is not us who are constraining God to time, it is he.

Every instance in the Bible where God is shown performing some action, he has taken time to do it. In my opinion, this timeless God concept is necessary for believers to counter arguments of incoherent attributes. It is something they need to fall back on when times get tough.

After all, if we ask the question Where was God when he created the universe? and the answer is Nowhere, because he is self existent, he does not need anywhere to exist, then surely if we ask the next question, Where is God right now? the answer must still be nowhere.
