Now that's a cool spider. How big was it? Any idea what species/genus?

lol yes, my sister is quite afraid of spiders

It's called a wolf spider... it was huge! We've got clapboards on our house and they're about hmm... four inches wide? so I'm guessing perhaps 5 inches? We tried to hold a ruler up to it... but we were afraid it would jump away

If you'll notice, it's actually eating a june bug, and those things are atleast and inch long... if that gives you some perspective

Wow, those are great pics, everyone! Apparently in my short absence, I have missed an awful lot.

Its a very nice pic!

My Mum is terrified of spiders too. I usually have to take care of the ones creeping up the walls.

Ah, that makes sense now. I was a bit confused with the bug there, almost though it was a part of the spider..XD

Don't be so sure... a lot of the great churches in Russia were used as storehouses and sabotaged during the time of the communists. My own church on Nevsky Prospekt burnt twice during their regime, and was used to store bicycles.

Technically, it's a museum that used to be a church.
