Tolkien is above being president. He's honored enough by having practiaclly everyone here think about and discuss him all the time.
Like Bombadillo says Tolkien is the fantasy god.

So, Nurvingiel, why not join in the good times and all around great feeling of knowing that you are doing something wonderful for all J.R.R. Tolkien fans by signing on with the Sister Golden Hair for President of Entmoot Campaign? I know you are running, but perhaps you could use your genuine happy persona to help get a superb leader and a dedicated Tolkien fan elected. We could definitely use your vast amount of knowledge and skill on the campaign trail. What do you say, want to throw in, and vote for the candidate that stands for the good of Entmoot and its members above herself?

Haven't checked out this thread for several days now. Other duties called . But well, in case my supporters began to wonder, I am still running.
Jonathan for President. I'm following the primaries in the US. The media is enthusiastically reporting how Kerry, Clark, Dean and Edwards are doing. But they will report even more before the elections next year. My, it seems like yesterday Bush was elected President. The election in 2000 was indeed thrilling, I wonder if this Entmoot election will be as exciting Soon there will be elections for the EU parliament. And this time, I get to vote. Not many people around Europe seem to care about going to the ballot boxes because to them, electing people for the EU parliament isn't that important. That's too bad But I'll figure out someone for whom I'm going to vote - like the mooters should do in this Entmoot election . Let's have as many mooters as possible vote for their favourite candidates! The more voters, the more fun.

Indeed you are correct, sir.
The more voters and the more views expressed is what makes this election fun. Jonathan hit it on the mark with that one, we just hope that all of those voters will vote how their heart tells them to, and enjoy doing it. That said... SISTER GOLDEN HAIR FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm...
You know, people really are getting better at this. I think I might change my mind to favor Hector instead of JD. But don't add me to any signtures yet, because I'll most likely fluctuate until election day. So uh, looks like you're not even a loser after all. EDIT: And that's not just for ice cream. Quote:

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.' 'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin "Oh. I would just like to mention that the candidate I support, I support fully, 120.5%(0.5 x 10to the twenty-fifth power) and they can be assured of my assurance when it comes to the vote.
I can tell you that I don’t place my vote lightly, nor do I do it in vane, for mine is a vote that counts, and a vote that can carry the runner forward faster than the little niky shoes that were handed out at the beginning of this race, which has raced onwards gallantly and with true courage, fortitude, and athollogi. Not that this race has anything to do with Race, for indeed it would be silly for someone who goes to a yellow and green message board to talk about color or sex… I mean really. Why do I vote? No indeed I dare to ask why do any of us vote? Is it all some silly act started by our founding Admin who placed a short guy in command of the presidency (Unless, of course, he is an unusually tall hobbit as hobbits go, which is to say that his high would be taller than a short hobbit but perhaps shorter than a short human, but not so very middling as an oversized dwarf). Why do we vote? Why should YOU vote? Because I flipping said so, that’s why. Get off your behinds and get to supporting some one. |
