*applauds* Very clever, WF!

umm --
'a',
's',
'ch' or 'r' ?
'i' ?

(the 'a' and 's' are great! but having trouble figuring out the others)

It looks like 'ch' to me. Why don't you just use paint, Wayfarer? It's easier. But that's coming from the Paint Expert, so ...

it's 'Ascii' (which is drawing using characters)

the long carrier makes the 'i' double- 'ii'.

And MS paint is crap. I might start using the word fonts again... that was cool.

I agree with your comment about MS Paint. But doesn't it take forever to line up the characters just right?

Who's fonts are you planning on using? And does this board support those fonts? I have some on my computer, but I haven't tried them here.

If you're doing English-mode Tengwar, there is no 'c' - you use either 'k' or 's', depending on the sound ('k' for Cat sound, 's' for the first 'c' in Circle sound). So I would use 'k', since that's how I've always heard "ascii" pronounced.

I used classic sindaring tengwar, not english.

Ruinel- I've become fond of dan smith's fonts, both Cirth and Tengwar.

Gah.

I can write stuff out in tengwar, but when I try to upload the file it's always too big.

Which is strange because I'm using a BMP smaller than some of the messages above. Let me try a GIF or JPEG...

So, uh, can anyone understand what it says? Because I don't remember. ];-)

You wrote...???
cursives ringer writingerklga;(can't really understand what this word was supposed to be, sorry ) likes the ringer writinger.

I'm not the expert in this thread. But I think you wanted to use the open Tengwar for '-ing' (III/5), instead of the closed (IV/5).

Too bad we can't use the fonts directly. This board likes jpg, not bmp.

I'll have a crack at it now, if you want.

Cursives (?) ringurcursives(major ??) writing likes the ring writing

I have a feeling I am wrong here. I will edit it later. I think I can't read it because the person hasn't used the /e/ dot.

Ruinel, is it really 'ringer' - because I have two conflicting Tengwar tutorial things - one says 'like finger' whilst the other says that Tengwa is 'as in sing. I think that latter sounds more plausible to me, but I could be wrong. I don't think Tengwar would have two syllables.

BTW: I hardly think that Wayfarer wrote that and doesn't know what it means.

Ah... don't be so hard on him. He's preoccupied giving BB a whoopin' in another thread (and I'm enjoying watching it, b/c BB deserves it).

yes. That's close.

it says:

Cursive.
Like the ring writing.

Funny how cursive, one word, is longer than the entire second sentance, because of the number of vowels.
