This is totally true. I didn't start getting asked out until I started going out with my boyfriend. (Which is reverse of what one wants, right? Damn.)

Ah, in my case I seem to attract the same type of men and unfortunately they are not my type.

Yeah, there's that too. I think the type that would hit on me is not the type that I want hitting on me, as a rule of thumb.

At least the puns are few and far between.

Tessar, perhaps you've had a boost in confidence because of your musical improvements lately as well?

Hmmm, I don't know that I feel any more confident, honestly, and I still don't see myself as being anything more than average looking . It's fun to joke around, but I seriously don't entirely know why it is that these people are asking me out now... I do think my face looks a bit different lately... I think my jaw has squared out a little maybe.

It's probably all just an enormous coincidence, but it's certainly fun to see how weird I can make my jokes and still get (certain) people to laugh .

I diiiiid get some new glasses today . They wont be ready for a few days, but I'm excited... it's the first pair I've really picked completely by myself. My mom always used to steer me towards rounded frames, and I really need squared frames now, so these new glasses will suit me much better than my old ones did... also my old ones were about six years old so I was officially blind in them .

Sometimes I feel like people laugh at me more than with me when I make jokes, especially high schoolers. I'm pretty sure they all think I'm really weird. But that's ok. It's kind of a nice feeling to look like an idiot all the time and not be worried about it.

Know what else is a nice feeling?

Knowing that you're learning how to KICK PEOPLE'S @$$ THROUGH THE GENTLE ART OF TAI CHI!!! EFF YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously, I had a lot of fun in class tonight. We're still at the beginning (haven't started learning the 'patterns' yet, we're still learning how to properly shift our weight and do the stepping). But soon we'll be moving into the stages . I'm in no hurry... it's an incredible workout.

These few weeks of Tai Chi have made my calves absolutely rock solid. It has also taught me how to push my muscles without hurting them. Now I know the difference between an intense muscle burn and actual pain from overextending the muscle, which I always worried about before.

I do have a question though, Katya... how long did you guys spend learning to do the weaves and steps before you got into the stages? The guy my mom and I are working with said it would probably take about six weeks for us to learn to do the weaves and stepping properly, and it seems like he's right.

I think we learned the first form on the first day of class. I think we were limited in the amount of time we had. 24 forms, 16 class sessions (once a week for a semester). We usually learned one or two forms a day. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to learn them all. I think if we had more time, we would've gone slower. But we did spend a lot of time in the beginning working on the tai chi walk, as she called it, and we did that at the beginning of every class. She was also very particular about proper posture. But, in the end, it was still a 1 credit class at a not very prestigious university.

I'd really like to learn more, but I would need to find an instructor I could trust, and I don't have the time or money for that now. (I mean, I have lots of time but lots of other things I want to devote it to first.)

Anyway, whether you like it or not, you're huggable. (not that that means much coming from me, seen as that I find almost everyone huggable >_<)
Actually, in a way it is. Seriously, you - like we all - are attracted to certain facial features(?), then seeing them would make you like the person, but of course rarely developing a crush. Right?
Aww... huggable. Now that's the first time I've heard that. *sneak-hug*

Heh, I can count the guys I had a thing for on 3 fingers. Ah, make that 4. Though I often think guys are cute. *shrugs*

Katya, aren't the crazy teachers remembered the best? I'd say keep at it.

Hi all!

Today is my 45th birthday, almost an anniversary of my birth. I was born at 5am on Saturday the 3rd of July in 1965 and I think since I "appeared" at that time I often wake up then.

Ye gods! I've just been out in the July heat for three hours, and I've got nothing cold in the house!
