Star Wars is the name of a series of movies by George Lucas. Set "in a galaxy long long ago and far away" it follows the adventures of a coupleof generations of extended families and their friends during a period of political conflict, and details their use of "The Force", a esoteric energy in the universe that may be manipulated by some beings.

Star Trek is a series of television series, supplemented by movies, about a quasi military organization known as Star Fleet, operating in a theoretical future in this universe. It was created by Gene Roddenberry.Each series is roughly self-contained, and features an ensemble cast, usually in a starship, who have military (and, in later years) exploratory and diplomatic responsibilities to their organization.
