A vote for Nurvingiel is sort of a vote for Tolkien. If elected as President, I will continue to strive for peace among Mooters, as I always have on the board.
I acknowledge the honour given to Tolkien by Mooters. If elected, I will seek to further honour him by changing my avatar or title (or both) to something Tolkien related - as deemed appropriate by my fellow Mooters. (Good idea putting your presidential speech in your sig FF, I'll do that too!)

This is a TOLKIEN BOARD, I'd say well over 90% of had better like tolkien. He is honored enough. What more would you do to honor him?? Remember that the title of president of entmoot is merely symbolic.. Your avatar IS ALREADY TOLKIEN RELATED, and sorry but who cares if your title is or not. What, is voting for SGH like voting for Frodo because she may like him? Vote for the people you like - not because a "vote for nurv is like a vote for tolkien," because that makes no sense. But that is just my personal opinion.

A vote for me is like a vote for Tolkien simply because I was campaigning to get him in the race, and when that failed, named as honourary president. SGH pointed out that he is already revered on this board, so my efforts were needless. However, that effort is what got me into the race in the first place. Obviously I have a Tolkien avatar now, it's for the presidential campaign (my other tie-in to my original campaign). I meant I would permanently change my avatar. If this isn't important to people, then no big deal. I offered to do that because it's the only thing I could actually do as a campaign promise - I don't have control over anything else on the board, except my posts. As for my posts, see my other campaign promise - to continue promoting peace amongst Mooters. I have done this since I started posting, I think it's the most important quality a Mooter could bring to the symbolic position of President.

Yes - but how is your appreciation for tolkien greater or better than anyone else's.
I'm sure all the candidates like him as much as you. what are you standing on besides liking tolkien? why should people vote for you? Sorry if i seem mean, but these are things that might come up at a debate

I don't think I'm better than others, or appreciate Tolkien more, it's just that... what else would you base your campaign on here?
I wanted to actually have a platform, I wanted it to be relevant, and I wanted it to be something I could do or believed in. This criteria left me with 1) Love of Tolkien and 2) that I would be an excellent President based on my history here.

Nurvingiel, Tolkien, and Hector for Pres!
My vote most definately goes to Nurvingiel, her enjoyment with the outstanding quality of the community here is borderline on obsession, and her qualities make her definately suitable for President.
As well, I'm supporting her Tolkien movement, for without him, we would simply not be here...... And Hector, well even though I dont' knwo you very well, you're uber cool!
