Tom Clancy's "Splinter Cell". A very provocative book in these times and written in his inimitable style.

Didn't they make a video game for that?

I thought someone else actually wrote those, but he just endorsed them or did someone just co-author them?

Excellent book and life to study. It's on my bookcase as I type this.

"Go-Rin-No-Sho" or "the book of five rings' as it is known in English is also one to read over and over, as it's nuances are missed with only a first reading.

After finishing Cussler's Dirk Pitt-books, Turtledove's Worldwar-series, Churchill's A history of English-speaking ppl's III: The Age of Revolution, Lawrence James' The Rise and fall of the British Empire and Kim S Robinson's Blue Mars, I'll begin reading Iggulden's Emperor-quartet (which fourth and final part I aquired in London).

I'm looking for the "five rings" but I haven't found it yet it looks worthwhile. I'm just starting "art of war" by sun-tzu.

One of my exchange student friends here found Go-Rin-Sho (should it have the "no" in it? This one leaves it out) in Japanese and English in one book. Nice. I had thought about reading it a long time ago, so maybe this is my chance....

Good. In many bookstores they carry the English version which does have the title as Go-Rin-No-Sho, of course that's so those speaking English can get the title correctly.

Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil. It's about time I got to reading more of him...

Reading a philologist in translation is painful.

But I don't speak German.

I just finished Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller. Has anyone read this or his other book, Blue Like Jazz?

No, but speaking of comedic-type writers, I just bought "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell," by Tucker Max, and it's the bomb! You guys should check out his website, tuckermax.com

Elenmire, "Beyond Good and Evil" is fantastic Nietsche.

Oh, it was excellent. I saw Donald Miller speak at the University of Texas last year, and a lot of what he spoke on is in Searching for God Knows What. He talks about the Gospel's significance as a story, and he dissects Romeo and Juliet as a narrative of the Christian story.

On top of that, he's great story teller, himself. I love the story about when he stopped believing in Santa Claus. One of his reviewers said Miller was like Anne Lamott on testosterone, and I'd say that's a pretty accurate discription.

I've just finished "Tony and Me" by Jack Klugman.

It's a great, easy read and gives insight into two guys who made many of us laugh. A bonus was that the book came with a DVD of out-takes from the 'odd couple' tv show....hil air e ous ..........

Take time to check this one out of your local library should it appear on the shelf.
