Hello! I don't know if you could say that I am exactly new, because I have been visiting the site off and on since around 2005, and just have never had the voice to say anything. But finally pecked up the courage! So yes, hello.

Greetings, all!
I'm Curufin, and this site was recommended to me by The Dread Pirate Roberts...the site I'm coming from is having a bit of trouble with...er...Nazgúl, so I thought I'd try to find a friendlier place for a bit. I've been a fan of Tolkien for some years now. I've read Lord of the Rings, the Silmarillion, The Hobbit, the HoME, and some of the letters. I know most about the Noldor, though, and start to get bored when the Silmarillion starts focusing on Men and Dwarves... I've been called "The Johnny Cochrane to Fëanor's OJ," and I guess the guy who said that has a bit of a point, as I will defend Fëanor's supposed transgressions to my last breath. My favorite texts are The Shibboleth of Fëanor, Laws and Customs among the Eldar, and Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth. The obscure texts do it for me a lot more than LotR, which is okay, but not exactly my cup of tea (too many hobbits, dwarves and men!). Look forward to discussing this wonderful world with you all!

Good to hear!
I've spent several hours lurking and reading old threads here, and it looks like an interesting, friendly place. I'd like to get involved in some RP's eventually, too!

Well, I'm a Newbie too, but I'd say that as long as you make posts that are worthwhile, there's no such thing as too much posting.

Welcome Eilonwy!. I recognize the name of your character; she's the princess in The Chronicles of Prydain. I loved that series!
