Tessar, LOL that post cracked me up! Can't tell ya how many classes like that in the past I had to endure. You're doing so well to be already plodding thru college at your age. Much respect!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I'm driving along to school this morning. Being my usual, careful self. Three second following distance and all that stuff. Well the guy ahead of me is tapping his breaks occassionaly, so I'm tapping mine and keeping the following distance.

Well all of the sudden the guy 'taps' his breaks and I hear a really funny noise, so I tap my breaks and glance down at the gauges on my dashboard to see if something's wrong, since my car has a history of odd problems. I was looking at the gauges for less than a second, probably. It was one of those 'eye-flicker' checks.

I look back up and I'm practically on top of the truck ahead of me, and it hits me, 'That's tire's screeching, not my engine!" so I slam on the breaks. I litterally skidded forward, and in the corner of my eye saw the guy behind me swerve into the matenence lane to avoid smashing into me, so I just press harder on my breaks and keep the car pointed straight forward.

We went from SEVENTY MILES AN HOUR, to stopped dead in the MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY for no apparent reason. I was probably less than a foot away from his bumper when the car finally stopped.

And now my mom's saying that it's MY fault because I "wasn't keeping enough of a following distance." Following distance my FOOT! I was AT LEAST three seconds behind the truck ahead of me. YOU JUST DON'T STOP DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR NO APPARENT REASON!

Bad drivers can just bite me.

And no, I did not honk my horn at the retard who did it, sorely tempted though I was.

Tessar, you didn't even honk your HORN at the guy?! I would have pulled up next to him, blocked his car, put my car in park, got out, went over to his driver's side window and screamed "WHAT the F--k is your PROblem, mfkr?!" But then, that's just me.

Cops are useless, they usually hinder not help, that's their general M.O. Screw calling the cops; get the guy's info and then pursue your own justice, or whatever. Or tell the highway patrol there's a madman on the highway, and quote his license plate to them, then they can take over without you having to deal with them directly. IMO, highway patrol are the only "good guy" cops that exist; regular cops are EVIL!

Meh. My getting out and screaming at him wouldn't have done me any good. I probably would've just gotten run over!

Plus I'm not the kind to start screaming at someone just because they're a total retard-idiot who is probably mean to kittens and doggies.

But really, for all I know he fell asleep at the wheel and came to just in time to prevent a massive pile-up of some sort. Granted he almost CAUSED a four car pile-up anyways, but there's just no telling why he did what he did. I mean I'm mad at him (RETARD! ), but I don't feel like I'd have the right to take justice into my own hands .

Tessar- Oh, man, what a bummer! At least you didn't hit the guy. I think my heart would have been in the roof of my car! And then I'd probably get irked. Did you ever find out why the guy stopped? What an idiot.

I'm showing off to a girl one night, driving at speed on one of my favourite sections of twisty road. Suddenly, exiting a particularly tight 150kph corner in the right-hand lane, I notice a couple of cars up ahead. Nothing to panic about, get on the brakes swiftly and progressively. But then I notice the cars swerving and tramlining over the slightly uneven surface. They have to get hard on the brakes from probably 80-90kph, while I'm threshold braking until sitting at 5kph behind the closest car. I see up ahead there is a car that is stopped dead in the road. Eventually everyone passes him in the left lane, and I notice he has his left indicator flashing. He is stopped dead in the right lane, trying to get to the left lane. There is no offramp anywhere near him.

I was slightly angry and confused afterwards, but got over it pretty quickly. Besides, when I told the girl that the car doesn't have ABS or airbags, she hit me. I enjoyed that.

"Man's Search For Meaning" may be easier than high speed happiness. Be safe.

Update on mom:
She has finally been diagnosed with:
Acute Respratory Distress Syndrome, resistant STAPH infection, a blood clot, an unkown arm problem, and gall stones.
The main problem here is that because of ARDS, she may be on a repirator (therefore under sedation) for 6 months, which would be really surprising for someone waking up a year later. this is, however, only for extreme cases.
