Well, that happens to me: not buying something I want. I always find what I was looking for originally, THEN find something else, and be like 75 cents short, while I don't want to give up what I already have.

I had the money to buy it, but not the space this time. And that was the hardest part of it. But, I'm always finding more than what I was originally searching for, too.

I always have the same two carry ons. My viola, and a tiny backpack that fits my ibook, some magazines, and a few snacks. Usually nobody hassles me about the viola, but there was a time when some lady really had no clue about the fragility of musical instruments. She tried to tell me that the viola was too big, and would take up someone else's carry on space. Which was a lie, since it actually fits in a smaller space than most of the huge carryons people take on the plane. So, I showed her my magical note that gives musicians permission to have instruments as carry-ons in addition to the stated limits. I've never taken advantage of that, but some day I might need to. Anyways, one glance at the note, and she gave me a sour face and let me on the plane. The guy behind me was championing my case, and gave me a knowing look once we passed through the gate. He had told the lady, when I was speaking to her, that there was no way she could expect me to baggage claim a viola. It would be musical suicide.
I really love random strangers. I have the best luck. |

Yes, I am the feared violist. And I now play Klezmer, as well.
I just keep adding genres, so perhaps someday I will be the most eclectic violist out there. And I'm eating the best snack ever, at the moment. Bananas, PB, and Nutella. Well, every good snack is the best snack, but I'm eating this one, so it's best for now. Last edited by Embladyne : 10-25-2005 at 11:06 PM. |

Well, I don't know. I'm just researching the Stanford torus. (Plural=toruses, torii? ) Use for ZAQ1, because "Artificial Ring Structure" sounds stupid.

Just got a package from Klatukatt. I now have a T-Shirt with 'Glorfindel is my House Elf' painted on the front and 'Society for the Protection of Honey-Dipped Elves' on the back.

Yeah, take pics, though I doubt you have either a scanner or a digital camera...

Pytt! Wow, it's been a while since I last talked to you.
Have you listened to good music, lately? @Magdalena (do you go by LMM?) Roommates with cameras are convenient. Last year I borrowed it somewhat often, but this year I got myself a really cheap one. |

The whole time growing up, and even now, still, I've fantasised about having & playing a cello. I learned violin really easily, I was naturally gifted to play, but my parents could have cared less, and the neighbor lady who was teaching me moved away and a couple months ended up being my only length of study for violin. Never got around to buying a cello. If only...
Didn't have to work today, even though I wanted to. Hard work & a challenge becomes me. So here I am at the library - no wait, I'm at the Teacup!!! Anybody want smoked salmon sushi, and some edamame? And green tea 2 go with it all, or cold sake if you'd prefer....Mmmmm, cold sake....
