No, but you're getting, err... 'warmer' - in a way.
Say - while my second was easy (first line prob gave it away) this first one is proving to be pretty good. |

Hey Valandil! Here's a riddle that I played off one of yours...
I slew the big. I slew the small. If I hadn’t died out I would have slain them all. I sent so many to their fate that future generations shall call me “Great”! |

Kinda warm on the second guess as well... in a way. Time for another clue?
If I gave a certain clue, it'd give it all away - but I'll give another: The person is human - not dragon, dwarf, elf, etc. I'll look at your's later... off to a PTA meeting! |

Okay, I'm going to guess Fram, son of Frumgar. He fits all the clues.

You are correct! Did it just strike you? You seemed like you were going nowhere, then suddenly came up with the answer! Good for you though. I'll try to compose a couple more the next few days.
I've only recently noticed just how much major stuff was happening then - right around 1000 years before the story in LOTR. You had: the fall of Arthedain and drowning of Arvedui, the subsequent crushing of Angmar's forces, then Frumgar (interestingly Frungor in Appendix B) leading the Eothed north (I guess into former East Angmar), [EDIT: Hobbits choose their first Thain] Balrog shows up in Moria - kills Durin VI and his heir (a Nain or Dain I think), dwarves flee Moria and soon establish Erebor, Amroth and Nimrodel leave Lorien - paving the way for Celeborn and Galadriel there - and the ringwraiths take Minas Ithil, Gondor loses her last king and the rule of Stewards begins - all within like an 80 year span! That's digressing from the riddlin' though! Last edited by Valandil : 11-06-2003 at 04:09 PM. |

Yes, the Great Plague is the answer. Dang! I was hoping you would get 'guessers block' for a while as payback for the toughie you just composed. Plus, I don't have a new riddle ready yet. Anyway, good job Valandil! Thank you for guessing at my riddle.

Amon Hen and Amon Lhaw? Or are you referring to Tol Brandir in between?

You're right on this! Did you just log-on?
Maybe not clear enough, but I'm asking for the part that wraps and falls. WAY too easy, huh? |

Look back at the riddle... I think you're making it too hard.
