Laptops... you can't live with em, you can't live without em
 I have 2 things: 1) In the train there was a high whiny noise that apparently only I could hear. I asked some people but nobody heard it! I'm really losing it... @_@ And it gave me a headache. >_< 2) On the same trip I met one of my former classmates who is now attending artschool, majoring in singing. She wants to become a popstar or something. Anyway, we got talking about the differences of singing in a choir and singing "solo" with band and stuff. Then she said that every choir would be good if you'd just throw a few good solists together! I tried to tell her that it isn't that easy, but she wouldn't listen and was really disdainful of choirperformances and of the accomplishments of people in a choir ("You don't have to be able to sing, because the people around will cover for you" blablabla). She quite managed to get me off my happy standard. I'll never ever discuss this with her again, that's for sure! I don't like getting so upset over the ignorance of one person... (still, it was nice meeting her again and otherwise our conversation was nice  )

My work called me 2 times this morning: once to tell me the worktimes had changed and another time to tell me that the work I was supposed to do only required men, so if I wouldn't mind changing to a different job alltogether? Well no, I don't care where I have to waitress, but can't you just make up your mind?!? *sigh*

Nah, it's okay. Often the indecisiveness originates with the people hiring me through my agency. Those people are hired by the ones who want to have the party, so there are 2 or 3 contracters/subcontracters involved, making it all a bit messy.

Mari, a bit OT but what job only requires men? Urinating While Standing?
 I mean, you don't have to actually be a dude to clean the men's bathroom (that's all I could think of).I'm a waitress too, but we're described as something else. Speaking of gender, everyone in the front of the restaurant (wait staff) are women and everyone in the kitchen are men. All the kitchen staff (cooks and dishwashers) are men. Apparently the entire food industry is pretty much always like this. (This confirms my sneaking suspicion that I only got this job because I'm so good-looking.) The part that doesn't make sense is we're always short wait staff, so why not hire a guy or two if they're qualified? (There are a lot more people in the food industry more qualified than I, some of whom are probably guys.)

My agency has a lot of guys actually, but this particular organization (which thinks of itself as high class) only wants to have male waiters from our agency and hires the female waiters from another agency. As I understand it that other agency has a really good reputation, but they don't have men, so the men have to come from somewhere else... :?:
