Ok, the Dinner is served. Look at the scheme, find your place and go there "directed by servants". Mahtaliel, the servants asked Khamul to lead you in. If not, you may stick with Marty, unless he prefers Rian. Normally everyone leads the lady he is going to sit with.

I must log off now, but Shah et al, I put Ray as having come to Orrodel fortuitously; he's already been to the Reception and has been asked if he'd like to invite Viv, by the Chancellor himself, who would love to see young Viv tonight at the dinner, as would Aiwendis, who hasn't seen Viv in AGES, and Udu, who last saw Viv a long time ago, when he taught her how to swordfight like a soldier - a thing she doesn't do out of pleasure or choice mind you - she's ONLY five foot-three, too tiny for competitive swordplay. But Udu taught her how to fight, he taught her the basics when she was first "wraithed." That's how I've thought it, anyway, you guys.

Khamul just wants Viv there so he can ask her what that awful heartburn-y kind of feeling was that he got a few minutes ago. I don't see Khamul going nuts on Vivvie tonight; rather I see him trying to soften his approach with Viv a little if for no other reason than to improve inter-Nazgul relations as ordered by Ilmenzor.

Anyway - gotta go 4 now. I've been at it this evening here for 3 hours!!!

A very good idea for Udu to have been Viv's teacher in swordsmanship. At this period in time (early medieval, which is what most of Tolkien's world is set in), it was basically "hack and slash" and dirty tricks, not the sophisticated rapier fencing of the 1600's. Aim low and use your feet. Don't forget your shield.

OK, I just got back from an "important" dinner in RL - a nice dinner in a beachfront restaurant in Malibu - my hubby's parents are in town, and my parents wanted to take us all out to celebrate hubby's parents' 50th anniversary. I had some wonderful salmon - yum!

Thanks so much for the invites, yes, I would LOVE to join.. in fact, its what I've been wanting to do since I began reading, but seeing how you're ALL elf-lords, I felt very small, and hobbity, and scared!

I need to get a bit of an update though... I read the whole RPG, but is there any background plot I should know of? And what character should I take? Lotesse suggests a Nazgul 'Mor', or a female Nazgul of me choice.. but I think there are enough colourful wraithesses already... I wouldn't mind doing Mor, if someone could tell me a little bit more about him. Like what his real name is.. and how he fits in with the rest of the Nazgul family.

Serenoli, We are happy to have you.


Mor was a nazgul character in the Fellowship of the Ringwraiths RPG. He was Number Four, a Numenorean, called Mordacar. A nice, clever guy, who was smitten by Viv( but that was about 3000 years later).

Lotesse may give you more detailed info. Actually everything about him is up to you. You may invite a new name for him, no problem.

Edit:
By the way Number Three, Gothmog, the one who will become Lieutenant of Minas Morgul in the future, is absent too. This one was a Numenorean as well, but more of a villian, much like Khamul, but not that bad. If you want an EVIL nazgul, he is your choice.

And you can be a nazgul - learned Oriental doctor and Sorcerer- torturer type. Penny doesn't seem fit enough for that, I am afraid...

Again, all is up to you. If you prefer not to be a nazgul, but play a Good character, it will be fine as well. Just follow your natural inclinations!

rpg here ... and you'll very soon be an Elf lord

see the info thread (the street) but post ideas here first as we hope to keep that thread concise for this very purpose.

what sort of character would you like to play?

you can of course have more than one , some minor characters ... but it is best to have one strong character ....

if you want to jump in you'll need one at the uni now, else you will struggle to start off just now ...

so i suggest at the least a temporary or initial minor character of professor of wine appreciation ... this need not be your main character, nor need you keep him / her if either udu or lotesse would like it later ... though of course if you did take it that would then be up to you to decide, unless they speak up now ...

you could be fashionaly and in-character late ... studying late on the wine appreciation ... dedication you know!

regarding plot beautiful boomerang made a wraith call to the north ... most felt this call and answered .. the Arch-chancellor was already here and khamul working with him ... Aiwendis also ...

there is still some mystery .. but it is early yet, most characters are forming and mixing for the first times here ... plots and sub plots will evolve naturally (except for a few that will maybe be a creationist development! )

We desperately need more GOOD GUYS! This RPG is just crawling with wraiths who have bad breath! There's really a lot of flexibility - and the studies part - well, I think this game will major on the extra-curricular activities.

It's about... well; love, distraction and trying to find (or obtain) what you think you want.

Lotesse there were many posts last night, but yours was the best. Quite outstandingly humorous. I loved Penny and Lil and their drunken sorcery. Especially i loved your description of the tiny figure of Khamul the Cruel.

Man, I'm confused! GOOD GUY or BAD GUY?? I think for now, I'll follow Butterbeer's suggestion and be the fashionably late professor of wine-tasting.. not that I know much about wine! Or if the dinner finishes quickly, I might wait and then jump into the fray...
What do you say Valandil, is there any space for a forgetful proffy to pop up before the Feast begins? BTW are dwarves allowed, or plausible? Would a dwarf be mad to be in the Uni?
